KNOW ME – KNOW MY FATHER
Monday – November 4, 2019, Cheshvan 6, 5780

Greetings precious brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus and welcome back to this illuminating and empowering Bible Study of the Book of John. As I have mentioned many times before the Word of God does not automatically become illumination or empowering. We must receive it as the Word of God, we must believe it as the Word of God, we must put it in first place as the Word of God, and we must do whatever corresponding action is called for in faith, motivated by love, and led of the Holy Spirit. The Word of God is a great and very precious gift that we must handle with the utmost of care and reverence. It you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment to hit the “love” and “share” buttons to expand the reach of the good news. The featured pictures this week except Friday are from around our home, todays picture is of the front door and the wonderful fall decorations Donna so lovingly placed for all to enjoy. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text for today.
John 14:5-9 (KJV)
5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
Another week is upon us and so we pick up our study of this wonderful Book of John continuing in the fourteenth chapter. Jesus has just told them He is going to His Father’s House to prepare a place for them and that they can’t come right now but shortly they will be able to come. He also tells them that they know the way to the Father’s House which is Heaven. Now, here comes “doubting” Thomas contradicting the Master saying they have no idea where He is going nor how to get there. Jesus responds with verse six of our primary text above. Notice that Jesus is not a way, a truth, a life, and the Father is not a Father. Jesus is the only way to Heaven, the only Truth, the only life, and the only way to the Father. If we don’t have Jesus our only possible destination is Hell and our spiritual father is Satan. Let’s take a few moments and dive a little deeper into this sixth verse.
John 14:6 (KJV)
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Jesus is THE way to the Father, to Heaven, into the Kingdom of God. There are but two fathers and two kingdoms. One father is Satan and his kingdom is the world systems, the curse, and Hell. The other Father is our Heavenly Father, His Kingdom is all of the blessing in Heaven and in earth. We are born into the kingdom of Satan and our destination is Hell unless we repent. When we are born again our Kingdom is that of God the Father and our destination is Heaven.
Acts 4:10-12 (KJV)
10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
When we call upon that name, the name of Jesus we are saved, there is no other name whereby we can be saved. There is no way to the Father except by the name of Jesus. Jesus paid the price of salvation, He took our sin, we must take that name, the name of Jesus and make it ours, and be baptized into that name. As we are baptized into that name, the name of Jesus, we are then brought to the Throne by Jesus and presented to the Father. We can also then be baptized in the Holy Spirit and thereby take our first steps towards the full restoration purchased at the Cross and in Hell. The full restoration is back to the state that Adam had except we have a better Covenant in Christ Jesus free from the law of sin and death. Jesus is the Truth. As many of you will recall, the Truth is four things all of which point to Jesus. From the very verse we are talking about we see that Jesus is the Truth. We also know that the Word of God (which is Jesus and all was spoken by the mouth of Jesus) is Truth.
John 17:17 (KJV)
17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
The Holy Spirit is Truth, the Spirit of Truth, the One who leads us into all the Truth, the one who points to Jesus.
John 16:13-15 (KJV)
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
Finally, love, which is the fundamental law of Christ is Truth (Matthew 22:36-40).
Psalm 119:142 (KJV)
142 Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.
All of this points to Christ Jesus, He is the Truth. This word “truth” means nothing concealed. God has concealed nothing from us, all is open to us. Any mystery that exists is due to our lack of diligence. Finally, Jesus is the life. This is zōē life, this is life as God knows life, spirit, soul, and body. Wow! And, yes, much of this is available now, only believe, all things are possible with God.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
