THE PRECIOUS TRAIL OF BLOOD – PART THREE
Sunday – November 3, 2019, Cheshvan 5, 5780
Greetings my dear brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus and welcome back to this illuminating and empowering study (if we will act) concerning gifts from God. If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment to hit the “love” and “share” buttons to expand the reach of this Ministry. I suspect you all have come to notice that we always have a part to play. God has already done everything He needs to do for His children to make all things good available for an astounding life in the earth. However, it is our responsibility by faith, in love, led of the Holy Spirit to bring it into our lives. Singing I love you Jesus 100 times on Sunday morning will not ever bring a single promise, a single provision from God, into our lives. The greatest myth in the Church and hindrance to the will of God being done is believing that God is somehow in control of everything and everything going on is somehow His will. This line of thinking and declaration brings some temporary comfort to our minds while the curse has its way in our lives. Those who believe this will live defeated lives. Unfortunately, most of us live very compromised lives already. We must be careful to never compromise with the devil. One might say, “I don’t compromise with the devil!” Really? What is the fruit of your life? Is poverty and disease rampant in your life? Can we say that we have a comfortable life and our health is good? Can each of us say that we are not limited by money or our health?
Now let’s pick up our study of the foundation gift of salvation examining the precious trail of blood. I left off last Sunday with the Day of Sin and Death in the Garden of Eden. The very first blood was shed in the Garden of Eden to cover, not blot out, but cover the sins of Adam and Eve (and perhaps others). Eve was deceived (iniquity), Adam was not (transgression) deceived but put his wife before God. Eve sinned in deception and Adam sinned willfully knowing the full will of God. It will never work for the husband to put the wife (or any other person) before God nor the wife putting the husband (or any other person) before God. The proper order in marriage is God far and away first, spouse second, children, others third. The difference is that we are in Blood Covenant with God, we are in blood covenant with our spouse, but not others like children and others. The reason is that we are one with God and we are one with our spouse but not with children or other persons. Agape, the God kind of love, applies to not just God and us, to each of us and our spouse, and to our neighbor as well which includes children and strangers. Remember, agape (highest Godly love) is obedience to the Word of God, selflessness towards others, and observance of Blood Covenant. Parents have a responsibility to teach children about God and the children have a responsibility to honor the parents. Violation of proper order in our lives results in sin and strife (which is sin) which opens us up to the curse (stealing, killing, and destroying) in our lives. Now let’s turn our attention back to the precious trail of blood and look at the first sacrifice of an innocent animal.
Genesis 3:21 (KJV)
21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
I am sure we all are quick to recognize that it is not possible to get the skin off an animal without first killing to skin it. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin (Romans 3:25, Hebrews 9:22). Life is in the blood! Other than the Scripture above the following is the first direct mention of life being in the blood.
Genesis 9:4 (KJV)
4 But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.
I think we have all heard lots of discussion about how the blood in the body is the most vital to sustaining natural life and so on. It is all hogwash. This is looking forward to the precious Blood of the Lamb of God, Christ Jesus which has given us eternal life, life as God know life! In the preceding verse Noah and his family have just come off the ark and God is establishing Covenant with them and mankind to follow. Immediately, they offer a sacrifice (sin offering) to God. There was to be the shedding of innocent animal blood until a sinless man could bear the sins of the world. A sinless man (Adam and Eve) sinned and it would take a sinless man (Jesus) to reverse the curse, and blot out our sins. His name was the Word, the Lord of Hosts, now we call Him Christ Jesus, and He has given us His very name, we are again family. There are many offerings on this trail of blood leading to Calvary and the Mercy Seat of Heaven. We will pick up with Abram who is the lynchpin of our salvation, the father of us all.
Romans 4:15-17 (KJV)
15 Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.
16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, (Bold added by Dr. Wood)
17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
Without Abram entering into Covenant with God we might still be awaiting the Messiah. As we finish for today meditate upon the following passage and Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Sunday.
Genesis 15:17-18 (KJV)
17 And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.
18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
I have seriously truncated this passage, the key for today is this, the smoking furnace is the Holy Spirit, the burning lamp is Christ Jesus. God, the Father, is making Covenant with the Seed (the Word) and the Holy Spirit who will enable Him for the mission of destroying the works of the devil. In the same day the Covenant with the Jewish people was made as well.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
