LEARN TO DO WELL

Greetings precious children of the Father and welcome back to The Three Minute Word blog currently exploring the Bible Book of Isaiah. What a wonderful, instructive Book for us all. A mirror of our time and for each of us to examine ourselves with. The featured picture today was graciously provided by our good friend and man of God, Joe Getchell Jr. Please take a moment to share these teachings as widely as possible to expand our reach of the Truth. Our God is so good! We are not in a guessing game with the Lord as to what is His will and what is not His will. We don’t always like His will at first brush when it goes against our traditions, the doctrines of devils we have accepted, or our flesh (carnal nature). When we find a difference between what we think and what God thinks, the smartest thing is for us to quickly align ourselves with the Word, the Truth of God casting aside all else, for all else is wickedness.
Dear ones we, all of us, must develop an absolute aversion (loathing, abhorrence, repugnance) for what is not of God. We are much too comfortable with mixing the knowledge of good and evil. We shout the Word of God Sunday morning and then repeat the lies of the devil, our flesh, in the afternoon. Then we wonder where the victory is in our lives. The second person of the Triune Co-equal God, named Jesus on the eighth day after his birth as a human being, did not come from Heaven to give us a second-rate redemption. The Word (Jesus) temporarily put aside the attributes of God to redeem us from sin, the curse, and to restore us to His original intent. We are family and as such partakers in the fulness of the Kingdom of God. When Scriptures says we “suffer” that is not talking about sickness, disease, and poverty, it means to put up with this natural life for a season. Jesus purchased the victory for us for now and forever. We are not to win a few and lose a few, we are designed to win and win big every time. Winning must be the only option we entertain. Is Jesus our prime example? Did He say we were to do the works He did and greater works? Did Jesus have any sickness or poverty or endure stoning’s or beatings before He surrendered to the Cross? I sure hope we all got these right. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and continue reading aloud, yes, out loud. Faith comes by hearing not seeing.
Isaiah 1:15-18 (KJV)
15 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.
16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;
17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.
18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
How many of us want the Lord, our Heavenly Father, hiding His eyes from because He is fed up with our two-faced approach, speaking with the mouth but having a mismatched heart. Are we just doing our religious thing and living our lives according to our own reasoning, the end of which is death?
Proverbs 14:12 (KJV)
12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
He writes it twice, suppose that is important?
Proverbs 16:25 (KJV)
25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
From our text we are told to wash with the Word of God making ourselves clean and then we are to “learn to do well”. Is that well according to our own reasonings or according to the Word of God? The Word of God, of course! It does not matter if our families or our Church has done something for a thousand years, we must prove it is the Truth, the Word of God untwisted. Remember, we are to be good Berean’s.
Acts 17:10-11 (KJV)
10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.
11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
These folks proved even what the Apostle Paul said and so should we. This helps us with context. It also helps to see what is written and what is also written.
Luke 4:9-12 (NLT)
9 Then the devil took him to Jerusalem, to the highest point of the Temple, and said, “If you are the Son of God, jump off! For the Scriptures say, ‘He will order his angels to protect and guard you.
10 Then the devil took him to Jerusalem, to the highest point of the Temple, and said, “If you are the Son of God, jump off! For the Scriptures say, ‘He will order his angels to protect and guard you.
11 And they will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.’”
12 Jesus responded, “The Scriptures also say, ‘You must not test the LORD your God.’”
The devil is quoting the 91st Psalm and Jesus points out to him that it is also written that we are not to test the Lord our God. He was led to jump by the devil not His Heavenly Father, thus to jump would have been testing the Lord and His Ministry would have ended that day and we would be lost and headed to Hell.
Lord willing, I will discuss this idea God presents of doing well tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as your Bible Teacher and a Prophetic Voice in your life I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
