LITTLE CHILDREN
Tuesday – October 22, 2019, Tishrei 23, 5780

Greetings my precious friends and partners of this Ministry and The Three Minute Word blog. A major focus of this ministry is to encourage us all, to unveil the Word (revelation) so we can come higher in Him looking more and more like Him, and to give prophetic insights into the will of God now and in the coming days. Todays featured picture is a pretty fall scene here in Maine, hope you enjoy. If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment to hit the “love” and “share” buttons to give us encouraging feedback and to broaden the reach of these Bible teachings. God is so very good my friends. Now, let’s turn our attention to our Bible Study of the book of John by first reading out primary text aloud.
John 13:31-35 (KJV)
31 Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him.
32 If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and shall straightway glorify him.
33 Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you.
34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
Verses thirty-one and two can be a little confusing in the King James Version so let’s take a look at two other translations so we have a better understanding, greater insight. First let’s take a look at the God’s Word translation.
John 13:31-32 (GW)
31 When Judas was gone, Jesus said, “The Son of Man is now glorified, and because of him God is glorified.
32 If God is glorified because of the Son of Man, God will glorify the Son of Man because of himself, and he will glorify the Son of Man at once.”
Now, the same passage in The Living Bible.
John 13:31-32 (TLB)
31 As soon as Judas left the room, Jesus said, “My time has come; the glory of God will soon surround me—and God shall receive great praise because of all that happens to me.
32 And God shall give me his own glory, and this so very soon.
The obedience of Jesus not only brought glory to Him but to the Father and as a result of that obedience the Father poured out glory on the Son. Do we suppose it works the very same way for us today? That is to say, when we do the will of the Father a manifestation of the goodness of God (glory) is shown to others. As the messenger, the vessel through which that goodness (glory of God) is being shown we ourselves become a manifest goodness. This is a manifest goodness of God, the Father, in a tangible way not some abstract way. When we do the will of God there is nothing but upside, He is exalted (lifted up) and glorified (goodness manifested) and He sees to it that we are also (exalted and glorified in Him). The very apex of the manifested goodness of God (glory of God) is Jesus (Jehovah saved) in the earth, His crucifixion, His bearing of our sin and taking the punishment of our sin.
Jesus was willing to take our sin and give us His righteousness, the great exchange. A gift of God, we did not deserve it, but God in His great mercy and love wanted to redeem His family. The Blood of Jesus was found to be pure, without sin, and His testimony was true and Justice brought Him out of the Grave and out of Hell and seated Him back on the Throne of Heaven the firstborn from the dead and restored as God. Oh, what a day that was! Our eternal redemption was purchased so that now by that same pure sinless Blood our sins are blotted out and we have right standing with the Father. Our participation in this redemption is not automatic, we must receive the Word, believe the Word, and repent taking action to go God’s way and not the way of damnation (the devils’ way).
Jesus continues to speak in verse thirty-three addressing those around the table as “little children”. These are the same people that we will see as Apostles in just a few days. We see the use of this wording later in the writings of the Apostles Paul and John.
Galatians 4:19 (KJV)
19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,
1 John 2:28 (KJV)
28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
I wish to make to brief points as I finish for today. One is that this is not a term of endearment but a noting of maturity or the lack thereof. Secondly, know that no saint is born full-grown no more than a human child is born full-grown and mature. Likewise, no Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, or Teacher is appointed, ordained of God, full-grown but are babies and mature over some period of time. The period of time is chosen by the individual not God. Let each one of us determine in our heart by way of diligent study and obedience to the Word of God that we will become full-grown men (and women) in Him. A baby, even a young child although cherished and full of potential is of little use in natural things and likewise in supernatural things.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
