Good morning or good day dear saints of God and welcome back to this engaging study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. As we prepare to plunge into our study, please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible. Also, don’t forget that I have published several books which would make wonderful Christmas presents. If you order through Amazon (3 formats available) today, there may still be time to receive before Christmas. The Amazon link is at the end of this teaching. You have seen the featured picture many times, unless you are new to the blog, and know it is to remind us to pray for the persons in the Seven Pillars of society. Dear ones the world is not going to be the ones to solve modern day problems, we the Church have the answers or more accurately know the One with all the answers.
Ephesians 6:18 (AMP)
18 Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God’s consecrated people).
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud. Yes, out loud, you know why. The text is presented today in the God’s Word translation which is said to be a balance of word for word and thought for thought.
Isaiah 48:12-16 (GW)
12 Listen to me, Jacob, Israel, whom I have called. I am the one. I am the first and the last.
13 My hand laid the foundation of the earth. My right hand stretched out the heavens. When I call for them, they both stand.
14 Gather together, all of you, and listen. What idol has revealed such things? The LORD loves Cyrus. He will carry out the LORD’S plan against Babylon. He will use his strength against the Babylonians.
15 I alone have spoken. I have called him. I will bring him here, and he will succeed.
16 Come here. Listen to this: From the beginning I have spoken nothing in private. From the time it took place, I was there. Now the Almighty LORD has sent me and his Spirit.
I want to bring something up which I have mentioned before but I think is worth speaking yet again about. We tend to relegate the Word of Jesus to only the red letters in the “New Testament”. That however is far from truth. For example, in our text, verse twelve, who is speaking. Remember that our God is One but He is three persons (don’t try to figure it out). Therefore we (today not when our text was written) commonly refer to God as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I commonly put it as the Triune God, the coequal first, second, and third persons of God. What were the two most common names used for the One we call Jesus today in the Old Testament. One is Lord of Hosts and the other is the Word.
1 Samuel 1:3 (KJV)
3 And this man went up out of his city yearly to worship and to sacrifice unto the LORD of hosts in Shiloh. And the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, the priests of the LORD, were there.
The term “Lord of hosts” occurs 245 times in the Old Testament.
Genesis 15:1 (KJV)
1 After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
The term “word of the Lord” occurs 258 times in the Old Testament. Now, shift back to our primary text and verse thirteen. Who is speaking? In this verse it appears to be the Father speaking. “My hand”, the Hand of the Father, is the Holy Spirit, the Power of God. “My right hand”, the One sitting at His right hand, is the One we call Jesus. The Father goes on to say, when I call to Jesus and the Holy Spirit they stand forth as one. Jesus is the voice of Heaven and the Holy Spirit is the Power of Heaven. The Father is the soul or idea “man” of Heaven.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here with our study of Isaiah tomorrow.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
