MY TIME IS NOT YET COME
Wednesday – February 13, 2019, Adar A 8, 5779
Greetings and welcome back to this wonderfully illuminating Bible Study of the Book of John. God is so good to we His people. The featured picture today is Jubilee Outreach located on WW White Road in San Antonio not a half mile from my old medical office. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text reading it aloud to get it in our eyes, in our mouths, and in our ears. Faith will come, what will we do with it?
John 7:6-13 (KJV)
6 Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready.
7 The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.
8 Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast; for my time is not yet full come.
9 When he had said these words unto them, he abode still in Galilee.
10 But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.
11 Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he?
12 And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people.
13 Howbeit no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews.
As we launch into this new territory let’s review the lead in for context and remember the Jews are indeed seeking to kill Him.
John 7:4-6 (TLB)
4 “You can’t be famous when you hide like this! If you’re so great, prove it to the world!”
5 For even his brothers didn’t believe in him.
6 Jesus replied, “It is not the right time for me to go now. But you can go anytime and it will make no difference,
It would appear that the “brothers” referred to are the natural brothers of Jesus born of Mary and Joseph and are being extraordinarily sarcastic. They did not believe on or in Him and scoffed and made fun of Him. It was the time for the Feast of the Lord known as Tabernacles or Booths which means they are in the midst of the Feast of Trumpets and Day of Atonement. Together these are the three fall feasts which are prophetic of the Second Coming of Christ. The time for Jesus to die is on Passover which is a Spring Feast and was prophetically illustrated in the deliverance of the children of Israel from Egypt. Jesus points out to the Disciples that it is not His time but they are free to go to the Feast for they have not made the rulers of the Synagogue or the people uncomfortable. On the other hand, Jesus is teaching righteousness which shines a light on the evil being done in the Synagogue (Church) and elsewhere. If there is anything that darkness hates it is light. This is going on in these United States right now and the rage of the heathen is coming to a crescendo.
Psalm 2:1-4 (KJV)
1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
The “anointed” referenced in verse two above are the Prophets of this day as well as all the children, sons and daughters of God. My dear brothers and sisters we all have a front row seat in this battle however there is something different today which is that the Prophets have spoken the Word of the Lord and it will be performed and this nation is being returned to a foundation firmer then on September 17, 1787. The foundations of these United States a Covenant nation are being redigged (dug anew) says the Living Voice from the Throne of Glory. The heathen do not want the bands of righteousness although righteous leadership causes a nation to prosper. It is spoken and it is being performed.
The Galilee is where Jesus’ home town of Capernaum is located so the text is basically telling us that Jesus stayed home, well away from Jerusalem where the more vehement hatred for Him was present. Afterall, think about it, where is the devil’s strongest influence going to be? In this time and this culture of our text and to this day it is Jerusalem for Satan wants the worship that belongs to God. The same goes on today as the devil’s infiltrate (influencing good people) every pillar, sphere of influence including the Church. They are polluting the gospel and therefore turning people’s worship to other gods, for the devil’s words are not the Word of God. As you read down through the text you will find some people thought Jesus was alright and others did not, the same thing is going on concerning you if you clearly stand for righteousness. Then we see the testimony of Christ is stifled for they are afraid of the Jews (Church folk) not the Romans (sinners). More specifically they were afraid to thrown out of the Synagogue. Lord willing, I will pick up here tomorrow.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
