OUR JOY – THE LORD’S JOY

Greetings to all and welcome back to this empowering and insightful Bible Study of the Book of John. Please take a moment to share this teaching then focus on it asking God to reveal Himself in it. The featured picture today is a beautiful sunset in Pittsfield, Maine provided to us by our good friend Joe Getchell Jr. Now, let us, each of us, choose, to receive, believe, and do all we find from the mouth of God. It is our choice. We, each of us, are the captains of our lives, not God, not the devil, not any other person, and not any circumstance. The only person choosing the course of your life and mine is we ourselves. God will not control our lives and the devil cannot, we have full authority.
I have recently heard from several mouths about how we are all human and we all make mistakes. Really!? Is that Bible, a tradition of man, or a doctrine of demons providing a seemingly legitimate excuse for sin? Yes, we all must be merciful, forgiving, and tenderhearted towards one who has sinned just as God is towards us and restore them. Sin must never be wallpapered over with humanism saying; “well we are just human and these things happen”. Perhaps one might say, “we all have a flesh and we just can’t help but sin”. We all have from time to time (interval dependent upon our will and attention to the Holy Spirit and Word of God and not the flesh) sinned, yielded to our flesh. Our flesh is our unrenewed mind. This line of thought is humanism. Is humanism a Bible idea? Now, let’s look at the definition of humanism. Humanism is an outlook or system of thought attaching prime importance to human rather than divine or supernatural matters. Humanist beliefs stress the potential value and goodness of human beings, emphasize common human needs, and seek solely rational ways of solving human problems. I will be speaking to this further as the week progresses. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and read it out loud, yes, out loud (Romans 10:17).
John 16:20-22 (KJV)
20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.
21 A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world.
22 And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.
I will now pick up our discussion about “joy”. I will discuss our joy, and the Lord’s joy. It is very important that we understand that our joy came from the Lord. To facilitate our understanding let’s think of this in natural terms. Our parents each had arms and we have arms. Where did our arms come from? They came from our parents for we are in their image and likeness, we are of like kind. We are a human being just as they are a human being. Their arms and ours are distinctly separate and under our individual control. What they do with their arms and what we do with our arms is entirely up to us individually. If our father has large biceps that does not automatically give us large biceps. However, if we do what is necessary to have large biceps, we too can have large biceps. So, the joy we have in our spirit man is a spiritual genetic replication of our Heavenly Father. What have we done with our joy? Have we let circumstances and the lies of the devil determine our joy? Joy is one of the fruits of the spirit, our spirit, and the Holy Spirit. That is not surprising since God breathed into the earthen body of Adam on the day of mankind’s creation and he and we became a living being or creature.
Genesis 2:7 (CJB)
7 Then Adonai, God, formed a person [Hebrew: adam] from the dust of the ground [Hebrew: adamah] and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, so that he became a living being.
The “breath of life” is the Holy Spirit and so our spirit man came to be or possess all that was possessed of the Holy Spirit. We are of like kind, we are in the image and likeness of God, we are gods. Don’t go apoplectic, this is Bible (Psalm 82, John 10:34). The source or origin of our joy is God and we have exactly the same potential for the bearing the fruit of joy as does God. Chase the religious devils out of the house and come back for another dose tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
