THE THREE MINUTE WORD

REMEMBER NOT THE FORMER THINGS
Greetings children of the most High God and welcome back to our study of the Book of Isaiah. If you are not a child of the most High God you are a child of darkness, of Satan. I realize that is a little blunt but the cost of staying in the devils’ kingdom is way too high, it is stealing, killing, and destroying now and Hell forever after this life. Change kingdoms today! Before moving on please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. The featured picture today is provided by Marilyn Stevens and shows several beautiful birds at a feeder. Thank you so much Marilyn. Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the Book of Isaiah. Please continue reading out loud.
Isaiah 43:17-21 (KJV)
17 Which bringeth forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are quenched as tow.
18 Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
20 The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.
21 This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.
Today let’s pick up with verse seventeen, where we left off yesterday. Seventeen in the Bible is the number of victory, the 17th of Nisan (Hebrew Calendar) is the day Jesus arose from the grace, Resurrection Day. Certainly, a day of great victory, without the Resurrection we would still be without hope. This verse in our text testifies of the day Pharaoh and his army went down in total defeat just as Satan and his minions would go down in total defeat some 700 years in the future.
Colossians 2:14-15 (KJV)
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
As we move forward into verse eighteen, we see the admonition to them and to us not to dwell too much on the things of the past but look forward to the new things the Lord wants to do. Have you ever gotten mired down in the past? That is not the will of God, it is sin. This verse is brought into a little better focus in other Bible translations including the Complete Jewish Bible.
Isaiah 43:18 (CJB)
18 “Stop dwelling on past events and brooding over times gone by;
The enemy will try to keep us in the past especially dwelling on past failures or negative events. Yes, deal with those things in the spirit realm and as necessary in the natural then move forward. There is absolutely nothing we can accomplish for the Kingdom of God or ourselves in the past, it all is in the future, it lies before us. Will we step into our future overcoming every obstacle by the Blood of the Lamb and the Word of our testimony? The 18th and 19th verses of our primary text remind us of these inspired of God Words written by the Apostle Paul. These words have been critical in my life, the difference between victory and defeat.
Philippians 3:13-14 (KJV)
13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
The word “forgetting” in the 13th verse is not so much about a wiping from our memory as it is about not focusing backward. Yes, we have a past and it is filled with the good, the bad, and the ugly. We have dealt with it in Christ Jesus then we are to move forward pressing into the call God placed in our lives.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.

13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. (Bold added)
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
