REPENT OF WHAT? PART SIX

Greetings to all the dear saints of God, friends, and partners of The Three Minute Word blog and this Ministry. Welcome back to this short Sunday series titled “Repent of What?” If you are reading this on Facebook please take a moment to share and if you reading from another platform please share. It is critical that people hear about repentance and the Kingdom of God both of which are wonderful news.
Mark 1:14-15 (KJV)
14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
The Kingdom of God and repentance is what Jesus preached. This series was inspired when I realized that the Church was in a complete bewilderment as to what they might have to repent of. One might think that the need for repentance was obvious due to the absolute lack of power in the Church. Unbelief kept the Israelites out of the Promised Land for forty years, how long will it keep us out of our Promised Land? Repentance is a wonderful gift of God. Repentance is the way out of any mess. I’m talking real repentance which involves a heart change not just a few tears and good sounding words. A heart change will include agreement with God that we have sinned, it will include a change of thought on the topic and change of conversation concerning the topic. It will include asking God to forgive and cleanse us with His Blood and it will include us verbally receiving our forgiveness with thanksgiving. I am going to pick up today where we left off last week so there is some replication but it won’t hurt us a bit. We were and are now looking at the question of why bad things happen to good people. Why was God not able to protect them? Jesus addresses the question.
Luke 13:1-5 (KJV)
1 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?
3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?
5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
These examples of real events address the question of why do bad things happen to good people. In the first three verses is an awful circumstance when Pilate killed some Galileans and mingled their blood with their sacrifices. Jesus asked the question; did they suppose those killed were worse sinners than others? The clear answer is “Nay”! or No! Why wasn’t God able to protect these? We are told it was due to a lack of repentance, unrepented sin. The consequences can be catastrophic as in this case. Have we judged ourselves? Notice Jesus asks the same question concerning those who died when the tower of Siloam fell killing eighteen. The answer was the same, “except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” Perhaps we could insert the Coronavirus into these two accounts. Do we have room for repentance? Jesus continues this teaching in the verses immediately following.
Luke 13:6-9 (KJV)
6 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.
7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?
8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:
9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.
These Scriptures are a wonderful example of intercession. We as God’s priests in the earth can intercede for people giving them an increased space of time for repentance. Let us, each one of us be diligent to intercede for those around us and those God leads us too. The bottom line however is always that they, that we need to repent. Part of our time each day before the Lord should include the following Scripture, asking Him to reveal error in our thinking, our beliefs and any Truth we are not walking in, anything of which we must repent.
2 Timothy 2:25-26 (KJV)
25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
Remember the devil, the thief, comes only to steal, kill, and destroy.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
