SHE SAW JESUS

Greetings dear friends and partners of this Ministry and The Three Minute Word blog. Winter, at least in Maine, is still with us as you can see in the featured picture. Before proceeding, please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible to expand the reach of this Ministry with the Truth. Now let’s start to turn our attention to our powerful and wonderful study of the Book of John. We have come through Jesus’ Ministry in the earth, we saw Him surrender to the Cross and pay the price of sin that only a sinless man could pay. He had to do what Adam would not do. I said “would not” instead of “could not” for Adam had a choice as a freewill man and he made the wrong choice. Jesus was tempted just like Adam, just like you and me, and He passed the tests. Jesus did it gladly for the joy set before Him.
Hebrews 12:2 (KJV)
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
What was “the joy that was set before him”? Perhaps you have heard it said that the joy set before Him was knowing we would be coming to Him, to the Father, by the Holy Spirit. I do not doubt that to be a part of what brought joy to Jesus. Jesus in His obedience always pleased the Father which brought joy to the Father and to the Son, Jesus Himself, just as it does us when we please someone. The joy of the Lord is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10). When those people that day in the Book of Nehemiah were obedient to the Word it brought joy to the Father, to the Lord, and He was in turn able to strengthen each of them as He did Jesus throughout His Ministry and especially on the Cross. In addition, we have the same joy in us (one of the fruit of our spirit, His Spirit) as the Father, for that is Who we got it from. We develop our joy with usage like all the other fruit in our lives. There is no power in the absence of joy, the antonym of joy is sadness which cannot be and is not blessed of God. Now, let’s read our primary Bible text aloud, yes, out loud.
John 20:13-17 (KJV)
13 And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.
14 And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus.
15 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.
16 Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master.
17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
Mary Magdalene is left alone at the tomb and boy does she have a day she would never forgot in her lifetime nor now in Heaven. When she turned from the angels, she sees Jesus but does not initially recognize Him as such. Have you wondered where Jesus was during this entire episode? The stone is removed, the tomb is empty, two angels are present, no one saw Him outside the tomb until now. I suspect He was there all along, not mentioned, but seen and simply thought to be a passerby or perhaps the gardener. However, when the risen, resurrected Jesus calls her by name she recognizes Him and I suspect her excitement and heartrate went skyrocketing. This is verse sixteen, sixteen is the number of love, God is love and we are love (agape). Love is part of us, our spirit man, we got it from the Father. We have the same capacity for love (agape) as God for it is the same love He possesses. I don’t know that our love will ever be equal with God’s but I know this, there is plenty of room for improvement, at least for me.
Verse seventeen (number of victory) Jesus speaks to her as the risen Savior, the Resurrected Jesus to be restored fully as the second person of the co-equal God. When we look at this seventeenth verse in other translations, we see Mary clinging to Him.
John 20:17 (AMP)
17 Jesus said to her, Do not cling to Me [do not hold Me], for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to My brethren and tell them, I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as your Bible Teacher and a Prophetic Voice in your life I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
