SPEAK BOLDLY
Monday – August 6, 2018, Av 25, 5778

Greetings and welcome back to this wonderful study of the Bible Book of Hebrews. God is so good to give us His Word so that with diligence we can know exactly what He has freeing given us as benefits and obligations by the Blood of Jesus. The featured picture depicts our welcome place at the Throne of Grace where we obtain Grace and mercy for our walk before Him expanding the Kingdom, expanding Heaven. Our picture shows our High Priest, Jesus, inviting us, interceding for us at the Throne of Grace where we do obtain Grace and mercy guaranteed, but we must step up and boldly decree the need. O what a God we serve! Remember, we are seated at the right hand of the Father even now in Christ Jesus. Our God requires us to be bold, anything less is disobedience and will result in failure. The boldness cannot be bluster but done in faith with love led of the Holy Spirit. We speak to our Lord with confidence in humility which is authority harnessed to the will of God. Now, let’s proceed to read our primary Bible text from Hebrews aloud.
Hebrews 13:5-8 (KJV)
5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.
8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Last week I finished the week with a discussion of covetousness and how that is linked directly and powerfully in a destructive way to the love of money. Money is not destructive in and of itself but the love of money is a tool of Satan. God wants us to have an overflowing abundance of wisdom (His) and money for they are a defense (Ecc 7:12). Of course, we can covet any number of things, which is made clear in the Ten Commandments.
Exodus 20:17 (KJV)
17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.
Synonyms from the thesaurus for the word “covet” include: want, crave, hanker, desire, long for, yearn for or wish for. As we follow after the Lord in faith powered by love, led of the Spirit He will give us the desires of our heart. He knows what will please us more then we ourselves.
Psalm 37:3-5 (KJV)
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
Please notice that the focus in the preceding passage is upon the Lord not upon what we think we want. As we delight in the Lord He will place desires in our heart, our thinking, which He knows will bring us great joy and if we will embrace those things He will bring them to pass. However, we must proclaim them boldly.
Job 22:28 (KJV)
28 Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.
As we look further at verse five we see the phrase “be content with such things as ye have”. I want to be sure that none of us come away from that phrase thinking that we are stuck forever in this life, or the next for that matter, at any current level. Our God is a God of increase, a God of abundance, and a God of overflowing. Our focus is to be on God and our assignment for the Kingdom of God and not our money or our stuff. All of those things are tools for the Kingdom and for our enjoyment.
Then as we proceed in this same verse we are reminded that our Lord will never leave us or forsake us. We are never on our own even when we feel so all alone we are not. Our current situation is never our permanent situation. Who will decree the Scripture with me today? Let us boldly say: “The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.”, in Jesus name for the glory of God. It is done (amen).
Until our next publication, I speak this Scriptural prayer for your life right now, receive it in the name of Jesus, confess it, and walk it out with thanksgiving.
Ephesians 1:16-18 (KJV)
16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
