THE BLOOD OF BULLS AND GOATS – PART EIGHT

Today we are arriving at the seventh and final feast of the Lord called the Feast of Booths, or Tabernacles. This is a time when The Lord Jesus Christ will reign in the earth as God and as a man (High Priest). Our Lord Jesus Christ is a flesh and bone eternal immortal man just as we shall be at that time. He will reign and we with Him over the whole earth as God and King. This truly is Emmanuel, God with us. Now to our primary text which speaks of the shadow of good things to come in the law. We discover some of the good things to come in the Prophetic Word proclaimed by the Feasts of the Lord.
Hebrews 10:1-4 (KJV)
1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
There have been many wonderful things written in the earth by many and some perhaps inspired of God but none can even hold a candle to the Word of God. As we ended yesterday I pointed out the ten-day (year) interval between the Feast of Trumpets prophetic of the calling of the Church to Heaven and the Day of Atonement which is prophetic of the final peoples of the first resurrection (saints from the Tribulation) and the recognition by the Jewish people of Messiah, Christ Jesus. The Tribulation is seven years in length so it would appear that the onset of the Tribulation and the Rapture are not synchronous. It seems to me that this three-year period is the time during which the person called the Antichrist comes into view and there is a consolidation of governments and religions. Remember the Church and the Holy Spirit are removed (as He functions today) during this time from the earth (2 Thessalonians 2:7). Now, let us take a look at what the Lord had to say when He initiated the Feast of Tabernacles.
Leviticus 23:33-36 (KJV)
33 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
34 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD.
35 On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.
36 Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD: it is a solemn assembly; and ye shall do no servile work therein.
Leviticus 23:39 (KJV)
39 Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath.
As we move forward let me bring to our remembrance that fifteen is the number of rest or provision of the Lord. Seven is the number of spiritual completion. The number eight is the number of new beginnings. Oh, what a new beginning. This is the equivalent of the seventh day of creation when God rested. At this point in time the Church is complete, and Israel is complete and God is back in the earth. This time of rest in the earth is temporary however with one major event of judgment remaining and then the new heavens and the new earth. The earth will have been completely cleansed of all sin, all of the curse and will be like day one in the Garden of Eden. Now back to the topic at hand, The Feast of Booths or Tabernacles when God (specifically Christ Jesus) tabernacles (lives among) with His people, Gentile and Jew alike. Let’s take a look at what the Prophet Zechariah had to say about this time.
Zechariah 14:16-17 (KJV)
16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
Never a good idea not to worship God. At the Second Coming there is the great battle of Armageddon and when that is finished we find the following from the hand of the Apostle John as revealed by Jesus Christ.
Revelation 20:1-4 (KJV)
1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
Oh, what a day this will be when the devil is out of the way for a season, we the Church will have immortal bodies and see equally well in the spiritual as the physical realms. O what a day!
