AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

THE GREATER THINGS – PART THIRTY
Rejoice and again I say rejoice! Perhaps you don’t feel like rejoicing. Who is in charge of our emotions, our feelings? Our emotions are given of God and can be wonderful and can be a snare. Many thoughts come with attached emotions. We are in charge, full charge, of our soul which is our mind, our will, and our emotions. We and we alone are in charge of what we think about, we alone exercise our will, and we alone choose our emotions. Are we allowing the demons or demon motivated people to lead us around by the nose with emotions? We have the capacity to check our thoughts every six seconds. Are we doing that? Every thought has to be run through the Scripture filter. Dear brother and sister there is not ‘Church’ and then the rest of life, it is all one life. We do way too much compartmentalizing. We have all of our boxes that we open from time to time and act like they are stand-alone parts of our lives. That is a lie of the enemy and we must not allow this thinking. It is all one box, so to speak, and that box is the Kingdom of God box. These are not the mutterings of this writer to fill space but has everything to do with your life and my life today and for eternity.
Now, let’s shift our attention back to the focus of this Sunday Bible teaching series. We are talking about the works Jesus did during His time in the earth, as a man Anointed of God, which we also are commanded to do, and the greater works we are ordained to do as well. You are familiar with the following verse but we will review it and meditate it yet again.
John 14:12 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
This is a command to all of the body of Christ, believers! Am I a believer, are you a believer? This is not addressed to the Five-Fold Ministers alone but to all believers. Let us not think this is a command in isolation. The whole ministry of Jesus was to show us how to live and His final acts upon the Cross and in Hell were to make it possible, legal, for us to do the greater works. Why do we need to do the works He did and the greater works? Because He has gone to the Father and we are the body of Christ (Anointing) in the earth. Consider the following passages.
Mark 16:15-20 (KJV)
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
Again, Jesus is talking to believer’s, we might say everyday believers, that’s you and me. The Lord will confirm His Word “with signs following”. If there are no signs following, can we come to any conclusion? Yes, we can! Consider the following.
Acts 1:8-9 (KJV)
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
What is the power for? The Power is for works that Jesus did and the greater works we are now commissioned, ordained, empowered and have legal authority to do. I asked the question; “If there are no signs following, can we come to any conclusion?” What is the answer? The short simple answer is that the gospel of the Kingdom is just not being preached. Yes, the teachings and sermons have Bible references but where are the signs? Jesus said that everything He said and did was directed of the Father (through the agency of the Holy Spirit), what about us?
John 5:19-20 (KJV)
19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
20 For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.
John 14:10 (KJV)
10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
Are we sons of God, and does the Father dwell in us?

2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
