THE MARRIAGE BED UNDEFILED

Greeting precious brother and sister and welcome back to this faith building Bible Study, if you choose it to be faith building. That is to say, our faith is not built mindlessly. Faith is built mindfully (on purpose) obtaining knowledge, choosing to believe that knowledge as absolute unshakable Truth, and then applying that knowledge. This study of the Bible Book of Hebrews has been wonderful and we are not done yet, however, I do want you to praying about what the Lord would have me to do next. As we prepare for todays teaching let’s go ahead and read the primary text aloud. Our focus will be verse four.
Hebrews 13:1-5 (KJV)
1 Let brotherly love continue.
2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
3 Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
As we meditate on verse four keep in mind that whoremongers and adulterers are not the only people that God will judge. He, God, is the ultimate judge of all things, all peoples. We the children of God will stand at the Bema (Judgment Seat) of Christ and all others will stand before the Great White Throne of the Father. The White Throne Judgment is not a place to be, for you have either just come from Hell for the final judgment or you are on your way to Hell (Lake of Fire) immediately following. On the other hand, we the redeemed will stand before Christ Jesus and receive our rewards, assignments, and suffer any just loses. Soberly read and meditate the following passage. It is so important that we not just look for “good things” to do but that we hear the still small voice of the Holy Spirit directing us to do the things important to the Father and thus important to us.
1 Corinthians 3:12-15 (KJV)
12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.
14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
Now, back to the marriage bed. Consider the following.
Hebrews 4:13 (KJV)
13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
Sometimes we lose sight of the fact that our thoughts are not a secret before God. Our thoughts are open to God and all other spirit beings good or bad. This is why Scripture admonishes us to keep our thoughts on God, to cast down and take captive all wicked thoughts. Another Truth I want to bring into our thinking is that spiritual (thoughts) adultery and fornication is wickedness and is not only about sexual lusts but are a turning away from the one with whom we have covenant. This is as wicked as physical fornication or adultery with those other than our wife or husband. When Adam turned aside to the Serpent that was adultery. Consider the following, God is currently divorced from Israel.
Jeremiah 3:6-9 (KJV)
6 The LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.
7 And I said after she had done all these things, Turn thou unto me. But she returned not. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it.
8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.
9 And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks.
These people were not having physical sex with God and then with another god. They were not honoring the marriage bed, their blood covenant with the Almighty God. Instead they went a whoring and committing adultery with other gods. That is to say they were giving themselves to other gods and serving them rather than their husband (Christ is our husband in the Spirit realm).
Matthew 5:27-28 (KJV)
27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Jesus is not talking about a fleeting thing in the mind of a man or a woman. To lust is to be preoccupied and covetous of the other person be it a man (for a woman) or a woman (for a man). Homosexual lust is a whole other thing. Marriage is a God idea.
Genesis 2:24 (KJV)
24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
The physical and the spiritual marriage beds are to be undefiled!

16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
