THEN COMES THE END
Thursday – July 27, 2017

Jesus is Lord and in Him we should experience nothing but victory, defeats are the product of unbelief which is sin. Don’t ever let yourself hear “well this just my cross to bear” coming out of your mouth. Our crosses (duty) are to do the will of God, carrying out our assignments in the Kingdom of God. Our crosses are never poverty and disease or any other part of the curse, Jesus already bore those, we have victory over all the curse in Christ Jesus. If we have something other than victory we did not get it from Christ Jesus, we had to go outside of Him to get it. Thank you, Lord Jesus. Hope you enjoy the beautiful picture taken very near our Condo. By the way does anyone know the name of the flowering tree pictured?
Welcome back to our Bible Study from the Book of Hebrews presented by Dr. Wood and The Three Minute Word publications. God is so good. Now our primary text.
Hebrews 2:6-9 (KJV)
6 But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him?
7 Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:
8 Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.
9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
Our focus, although I have built lots of scaffolding around it, is verse eight saying: “all things in subjection under his feet” The “his” here is not just the “son of man” but also “man” mentioned first. Christ for sure paid the price, not for Himself but for us. God in Heaven wasn’t having a lick of problem with the devil, his minions, or the curse. On the other hand, mankind was sure in trouble with it all with no road on our own back to God. Mankind had no road to victory over the death, the devil, or the curse. We must live and breathe the knowledge that Jesus’ work at Calvary, His resurrection, and His restoration provided for our sin problem, our resurrection (victory over death and hell), and our full restoration in Him. His victory is our victory!
Notice in verse eight above that all is in subjection under Him and therefore under us. The author of Hebrews goes on to say that it is evident from what we see that not yet are all things under His feet. So, what is not yet under His feet? We await the redemption of our physical bodies and the extinguishing of physical death.
Romans 8:23 (KJV)
23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
1 Corinthians 15:26 (KJV)
26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
Now let’s go back to our secondary text as it relates to all things under His feet and under our feet.
1 Corinthians 15:22-28 (KJV)
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.
24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
Yesterday I spent some time explaining or illustrating the mechanism by which all died in Adam and all can be made alive in Christ. Jesus was the first to experience salvation. He was born from the spiritual dead being quickened by the breath of life to eternal life. At salvation, He received an uncorrupted flesh and bone resurrection body. All in the same wonderful glorious moment Jesus (The Word) received full restoration as God (Jubilee). Jesus was made head of the Church and those who would name Him as Lord would be part of the body to enforce the victory of the Cross, the Resurrection, and the Restoration. In a moments time all was restored, once again the choice is ours. When will we do as He did and the greater things winding this thing up and restoring all things to the Father? As we look at verse twenty-four it starts with: “Then cometh the end”. Let’s look at this in a different translation.
1 Corinthians 15:24 (HCSB)
24 Then comes the end, when He hands over the kingdom to God the Father, when He abolishes all rule and all authority and power.
So, it seems there is a point in the future when Jesus will no longer be the Head of the Church for He will at the end hand it over to the Father. That occurs when He (Jesus and the Church) have abolished all rule and all authority and power according to our text above. When we study Revelation 20:7-15 we will find this event and then we must turn over to chapter 21 of Revelation to find the handing of the Kingdom of God to the Father. However, the work of the Church is done at the catching away. The remainder of time has to do with justice and mercy for other people groups.
Revelation 21:1-3 (KJV)
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
Oh, what a day that will be in the New Jerusalem, the new heaven, and the new earth when all evil has been removed forever. Now, I am going to ask a question but don’t let your heads explode. Does man, and for that matter the angels, retain free-will? If we answer, yes, then sin is possible. If we answer, no, then sin is not possible but where is the Scriptural evidence of the removal of free-will and would that violate the principles of man’s creation?
Until our next publication, I speak blessing into your life right now, receive it in the name of Jesus, confess it, and walk it out with thanksgiving.
Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)
24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
