TO KNOW THE LOVE OF CHRIST
Tuesday – December 13, 2016

Greeting on this Tuesday that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad. Please be reminded to pray for the many governments across these United States as well as those who serve in the Federal government. We are in dire need of a return to righteousness in our government and in our nation. That is not to say that all persons would be Christians but a critical mass would be attained with a decided dominance of Judeo-Christian law and thinking. We were founded as a Christian nation to demonstrate the goodness of God and further the Christian faith. Take a look at the initial phrases of the Mayflower Compact written and signed November 11, 1620.
“We whose names are underwriten, the loyall subjects of our dread soveraigne Lord King James, by the grace of God, of Great Britaine, Franc, & Ireland king, defender of the faith, &c., having undertaken, for the glorie of God, and advancemente of the Christian faith,…”
Ephesians 3:17-21 (KJV)
17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
As I pointed out yesterday the word ‘comprehend’ in Ephesians 3:18 means to take eagerly, to seize, and to possess. We are to eagerly take, to seize, and to possess the love of Christ. Look at all the superlatives (adjective of the highest degree) used in this passage. Now I want to draw our attention to something very interesting about Ephesians 3:18.
Ephesians 3:18 (KJV)
18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
Paul wants us to comprehend (eagerly take, seize, and possess) the breath, the length, the depth, and the height of this love of Christ. This love of Christ is four dimensional. We are all familiar with one dimensional things like a line, two dimensional things like a square having length and width, and three dimensional things which have length, width, and height like a box. However, when we start talking about four dimensional things we have entered a different realm, a supernatural realm. The image shown looks like an ordinary three dimensional box in a box. However, this is not a box within a box that is fixed but fluctuates such that the inside box is outside and inside. Here is a rather long link if you are interested in pursuing this further. https://www.google.com/search?q=four+dimensional+object&biw=1920&bih=955&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&sqi=2&ved=0ahUKEwi2ruSIw7rQAhUU62MKHYHkBkQQsAQIPQ#imgrc=6lwEGe-sdqp2QM%3A
If you did follow the link and didn’t just look at the static image but the dynamic image you will see that this takes us into a realm that we cannot see perhaps even the spiritual. At all points physical there is a spiritual interface. All physical things are vibrating at various rates, the more solid it appears the slower the vibration. As the speed of the mass increases it becomes infinite and so does the energy (e=mc2). The perfect (spiritual) is present with the imperfect (physical in fallen earth). In any event the Apostle Paul and therefore our God wants us to understand this love of Christ beyond the natural realm into the supernatural. Let’s continue a little further and look at the next verse.
Ephesians 3:19 (KJV)
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
The word know here is the Greek word transliterated as ginōskō according to the Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary meaning; a coming to know. This thing is so big that even if we understand the fourth dimension thing we are just starting to understand this love (agape – Bible love) of Christ. Kind of reminds one of the song “How Great is Our God”. Really, anything we come up with is just knocking around the edges. This idea, the reality of this idea, the lengths to which God will go to perform His love is beyond our understandings and knowledge in this carnal life. However, in the supernatural realm we can start to get startling glimpses into the love of God that will explode when we shed this body of death (physical body). Even now we have access to the mind of Christ so we can go far beyond natural understanding but we are fettered by this natural body. Being filled with all the fullness of God is the filling to overflowing of the Holy Spirit. This is not just the indwelling Holy Spirit that occurs at the time of salvation but a filling to overflowing with the Anointing (Holy Spirit) of God. Think day of Pentecost.
