AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH
Sunday – January 31, 2021, Sh’vat 18, 5781
THE GREATER THINGS – PART TWENTY-THREE
Greetings dear brothers and sisters of the Kingdom of God and welcome to the Sunday Bible Study. Right now, I am focused on the command of Jesus to do what He did and the greater works. How are we doing with that command?
John 14:12 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Before proceeding further please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible. Thank you for doing that so that the Truth has a wider audience. If you have not joined our Virtual Wednesday Evening Bible Study please consider doing so, it is not the boring powerless time the enemy may have told you to expect. Today I am turning our attention back to Isaiah sixty-one where we get insight into the “greater works”. If the first verse and half of the second was a description of Jesus Ministry in the earth “the works that I do” then we can safely conclude that the following give insight into the greater works.
Isaiah 61:1-3 (NLT)
1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is upon me, for the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed.
2 He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the LORD’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies.
3 To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the LORD has planted for his own glory.
Jesus, nor anyone else in the Scripture speaking the Word of God, ever preached poverty, not enough, just enough as the will of God. That is not the nature of our God and neither should it be our nature. We are in the image and likeness of God, we have dominion (superior authority) over all the earth and yet we don’t dominate any sphere of influence, mountain, pillar of society. What a pitiful testimony. It is well past time for those days to end dear ones. We need to seriously upgrade our thought life, our image of just who we are in Christ Jesus, and walk in it without pride, but full of confidence, and trust in our God (Father). The Devil unsuccessfully offered Jesus the wealth of the world.
Luke 4:5-8 (KJV)
5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.
8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
How did we fare when he, the Devil, presented us with the same question? Are we looking to the world for our living and to God for Heaven? Never forget the following verse.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Who adds it? God adds it His way and it will be in abundance and overflowing. The world system is not designed to make anyone but the devils top dogs rich. God wants all of His children very rich in all things. Rebuke that poverty mentality child of God right now, it is not pleasing to your Father. Back to Isaiah 61:1. We like Jesus are to bind up the brokenhearted and give them wholeness of mind in the name of Jesus by the hope they and we have in Christ Jesus. We are to bring liberty to those who are captive to Satan’s devices which keeping them in poverty, sickness, addictions, and so on.
2 Timothy 2:25-26 (KJV)
25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
We are to bring light into peoples lives who are in the darkness of Satan’s kingdom and at their acceptance of Jesus as Lord be translated into the light, the Kingdom of God’s dear Son.
Lord willing, I will move forward into verse two next week, we love you and there is nothing you can do about it.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
