AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

ISAIAH
A new day is arising dear children of the only living God. Greeting to all and welcome to The Three Minute Word blog. Please take a moment to share these teachings as widely as possible to extend the reach of this Ministry, the reach of the Truth. The featured picture was taken a few days ago out my Study – Prayer Room window, the sun is rising, the trees are starting to bud, the start of a new day, a new season. As I sit down to write this (3rd of May) plans are advancing rapidly for our move to San Antonio Texas. The desire that God had given us to move has been building and now we have the testimony of the inner witness. This is the time, God’s timing. It is a new day for us, a new season, a new and exciting chapter in the will of God and we are excited. Today I will be starting a teaching of the Book of Isaiah.
Isaiah is categorized as a major prophet along with Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and others of the Old Testament and is thought to have lived between 760 & 673 BC. This would make Isaiah’s’ lifespan 87 years. He was a contemporary of the prophets Amos, Hosea, and Micah who are categorized as minor prophets. It is not that the “minor” prophets are less important or said less important things, their books are shorter. All of the Word of God is precious beyond measure and eternally important. The Book of Isaiah is 66 chapters the same as the number of Books in the Bible. Some say that Isaiah is a reflection of the rest of the Bible. It is my plan to cover a chapter a week thus the study of this Book will take some 66 weeks (don’t laugh). We shall see, the leadership of the Holy Spirit is the paramount determinate. Now let’s turn our attention to Scripture.
Isaiah 1:1-3 (KJV)
1 The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.
2 Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.
3 The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master’s crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.
We will see as we go forward a picture of our day. If you have any Bible knowledge you will know that there has been an alternating pattern of righteousness and wickedness among God’s people for six thousand years. Since the fall of man some six thousand years ago in the garden we find that God always has had a righteous remnant and wickedness is always present. The Lord gave Isaiah a vision concerning Judah and Jerusalem. The time period is specific to four sequential kings of Judah. This time period spans from about 792 to 687 BC.
Notice how it says in verse one “Judah and Jerusalem” as opposed to Judah alone. If you will look carefully at a map of ancient Israel you will see that it appears Jerusalem is located in the territory of Benjamin. The tribe of Benjamin is that of the first King of Israel and Judah (including Benjamin). King Saul seemingly got off to a good start but rebelled against God. So did Jerusalem which is where the spiritual leaders of Jesus day resided and served. He was replaced by King David of the tribe of Judah who although he had some significant problems had a heart after God. The dominant issue with God is always the condition of the heart not the acts of the flesh, carnal nature. That is not to say we can follow after the flesh, our carnal nature, with impunity, contrary, focus on the carnal nature brings death. Focus on the Spirit brings life and peace of God. There is much discussion about the territory in which the Jerusalem resided including the temple. One source indicated that the courtyard was in Judah and the Holy Places were in Benjamin. Let’s take a look at a couple of verses that may help us.
Joshua 15:63 (KJV)
63 As for the Jebusites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out: but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto this day.
This verse would seem to indicate that persons of the tribe of Judah dwelt (lived side by side) with the Jebusites at Jerusalem which are not Jews (Hebrews).
Joshua 18:28 (KJV)
28 And Zelah, Eleph, and Jebusi, which is Jerusalem, Gibeath, and Kirjath; fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the children of Benjamin according to their families.
On the other hand, this verse would suggest that Jerusalem was a part of the inheritance of the Tribe of Benjamin. Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
