THE WHOLE HEART FAINT

Greetings to all the children of God the Father, brethren of the First Born for the dead (Christ), and empowered by the Holy Spirit. God is so good dear ones and He is nothing but good. Well, the moving company will be here today to start our packing for the move to San Antonio Texas. That will be finished by early Wednesday. We are excited and eager for the move however the things to do and coordinate at times seems daunting. We know within ourselves this is right; it is most of all the will of God. People ask what we will be doing there. Of course, we will be doing life much like here. We will be getting established in a local Church. This Ministry will continue as is (I think) for the time being. What the Lord has brought to mind several times in this process is Abram and when He (God) told Abram to leave where he was and go to Canaan. Let’s look at that for a moment, we all may receive some light.
Genesis 11:31 (KJV)
31 And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram’s wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.
In the preceding verse it appears that Terah (Abram’s father) took the lead on leaving Ur of the Chaldees to go into the land of Canaan. If you look at a map of that region you will see that Haran is not really on the way to Canaan. It appears they followed on the east side of the Euphrates River and took a deliberate detour into Haran where they lived until Terah died. As we move forward into chapter twelve the Lord tells us explicitly that He had spoken to Abram.
Genesis 12:1-3 (KJV)
1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
We generally talk about this passage with regard to the Blessing, praying for blessing Israel with our substance, and the coming Messiah. However, I want to draw your attention to the phrase “into a land that I will shew thee” in verse one. It wasn’t that Abram didn’t know anything about Canaan but he just didn’t know the details of going there. However, God did tell Abram that he would become widely known there, and be a blessing. We don’t know the details of why we are moving to San Antonio Texas (moving back for me, first time for Donna) but we know it is right and there He will bless us and we will be a blessing. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in Isaiah.
Isaiah 1:5-7 (KJV)
5 Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.
6 From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.
7 Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.
As you will recall, the Lord is lamenting through Isaiah the Prophet about the rebellion and evil among His people. The leadership in every sphere of influence is sick, perverted away from God and His ways. The heart, the thinking of the whole nation is faint or weak. A heart turned away from God will be darkened and weak, a heart turned to God will be bright (light of God) and strong. The verses to this point could not any better describe the time in which we are living if they had been written today. The Lord through Isaiah goes on to describe the condition of His people using the metaphor of a greatly battered and diseased physical body. From my prospective as a physician, this is a person in their last moments of life. That body of believers were in their death throes near being no more. However, like today, God always has a people, a remnant. I don’t like to think of the Church (body of believers) today as being in such a condition, but can we say otherwise. How would the Lord describe His body today?
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as your Bible Teacher and a Prophetic Voice in your life I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
