AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

THE LORD OF HOSTS
Greetings precious Blood purchased children and sons of God and welcome back to this illuminating, thought provoking, and empowering study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. Please take a moment and share these teachings as widely as possible. This is all great, very good, news. The featured picture today was provided by our good friend, and man of God, Joe Getchell Jr. Joe has a wonderful eye for taking pictures that are attention grabbing. A few days before writing the four days of The Three Minute Word for this week the Lord brought to my attention to the following verses to discuss briefly.
2 Peter 1:2-4 (KJV)
2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
This is an extraordinarily powerful passage. We could talk about these three verses at great length. I do believe, I know, there are a few points the Lord wants me to bring forward before we move into the Isaiah text. For those of you who have read and meditated Mondays and Tuesdays publication now know that knowledge in the Kingdom of God is king just as in the world. Where do we suppose the world got that idea? In verse three above we see that we are called to not only partake of the glory of this world (wealth) but the glory of God manifested out through our spirit man. This would be doing the works Jesus did in His earthly Ministry and the greater things (John 14:12) which we are commanded. He has also called us to excellence (virtue) not sloppiness or mediocrity. We are to do all things excellently just like Jesus, just like our Father. People should look on and say, wow. Tomorrow I will finish, for now, talking about the 2nd Peter text. Now, let’s turn our attention to our Isaiah text and continue reading aloud, yes, out loud. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Rhema – spoken Word) and not seeing.
Isaiah 1:24-26 (KJV)
24 Therefore saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies:
25 And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy tin:
26 And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.
Notice in verse twenty-four the words “Lord” and “LORD”. The word “Lord” means one of highest authority. The word “LORD” means the self-existent eternal God. Regarding us, really regarding peoples of all time, who is the One of highest authority and the self-existent eternal God. If you said Jesus, you are right. Jesus is the Head of the Church, the One with highest authority. Having authority does not mean, or even imply, the making of one to do a thing. God, Jesus the Head of the Church, has never made us do anything. He who is the Word has told us the way to go and we choose to obey or rebel. In our text the people of God have chosen to rebel and are eating the fruit of that rebellion. The way out is always repentance, not feeling sorry, ashamed, and bawling, but making a change in thinking, speech, and direction.
The One we call Jesus has always existed; He is the second person (identifier not a ranking) of the co-equal Triune God (the self-existent eternal Ones). We see Jesus plainly in the Old Testament, He has always been the Word, the mouth of God, if we look for Him. In our text, “the Lord, the LORD of hosts, the mighty One of Israel” is referring to Jesus. Jesus is not only our Master, our Lord, the Head of the Church but He is the captain of the hosts of Heaven.
Revelation 19:13-14 (KJV)
13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
This is Jesus, the Lord of Hosts at His Second Coming, when the remnant of Jews repent and accept Jesus as Messiah and the Millennial reign is initiated.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
