AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

CYCLES OF OBEDIENCE AND DISOBEDIENCE
Greetings precious Blood purchased children and sons of God and welcome back to this illuminating, thought provoking, and empowering study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. Please take a moment and share these teachings as widely as possible. This is all great, very good, news. I do not recall who provided the featured picture today, I lifted it off Facebook, however, I am thankful for the beautiful picture. A few days before writing the four days of The Three Minute Word for this week the Lord brought my attention to the following verses to discuss briefly.
2 Peter 1:2-4 (KJV)
2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
This is an extraordinarily powerful passage. We could talk about these three verses many days and just be scratching around on the surface. I believe there are a few points the Lord wants me to bring forward before we move into the Isaiah text. Yesterday I discussed how even the most educated among us, the spiritually deepest of persons, are woefully ignorant. The vastness of God, what can be known about God, and what we know is the tiniest of fractions. I don’t say this to discourage anyone from pressing into God with all diligence but I want to give context for our knowledge compared to what is available, and help us with our pride.
Now let’s fix our eyes (natural and spiritual) upon verse three of the 2nd Peter text. In verse two we saw that acquiring knowledge causes Grace and peace to be multiplied in our lives. The caveat (qualification) here is that we have to receive this knowledge, believe this knowledge, and implement this knowledge. The Holy Spirit will then lead us into increased fruitfulness. Increased knowledge, increased fruitfulness. Accordingly, the Power of God will give unto us “all things that pertain unto life and godliness”. Do you suppose that the insertion of the word “all” is a translation error or does God really want us to have everything that we need or want for this physical and spiritual life? As we continue in verse three, we run into this knowledge thing again. By the way, this is not just any knowledge, this is the highest level of knowledge, revelation knowledge. So, “all things that pertain unto life and godliness” also come by this revelation knowledge. Should we conclude that our knowledge of God is vital, essential, without other options, with regard to the provision of all that exemplifies an abundant natural and spiritual life. Didn’t Jesus say that He came to give us an abundant life now and later as well (John 10:10, Mark 10:29-30)? I will pick up with this tomorrow but now let’s turn our attention to the Isaiah text and continue reading aloud.
Isaiah 1:24-26 (KJV)
24 Therefore saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies:
25 And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy tin:
26 And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.
When I started this study of Isaiah, I pointed out that when we look at Scripture, particularly the Old Testament, from 30,000 feet we see cycles of obedience and disobedience over and over in God’s people. Are periods of disobedience necessary or preordained of God for His people? No, of course not! Are times of adversity in their lives or ours a process God puts on us to refine us? No!! Adversity comes when we stray by our choice from the will of God, the Word of God, from following after Him with a whole heart. Now, can God us this to bring us back into His will and victory? Certainly, but it requires that we repent and choose His Word over the deceptions fed us by the devil, the world, and our own foolish traditions. Repentance requires discarding the lie, then acknowledging and walking in the Truth. The chastisement of the Lord is not sickness, disease, or any other calamity or part of the curse, but the teaching us His Word.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
