AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

A WELL OF TRUTH
PEACE OF GOD – PART FIVE
Greetings dear and precious saints of the Only Living God and welcome back to more about peace, our peace and His peace. Please take a moment to share this teaching as widely as possible to expand the reach of the Truth beyond our present reach. God is good and nothing but good. If it is not good in your or my life it was not God initiated. The devil can’t initiate it without our consent whether given knowingly or in ignorance. So, I guess you can see that the controller of good or bad in our lives is we ourselves. Now, the devils will bring ideas and things to us 24/7 however it is our choice to accept to resist. We simply need to resist the devils and they will flee. Hear, receive, believe, eliminate doubt, and act upon the following Words.
1 Peter 5:6-9 (KJV)
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
James 4:7 (KJV)
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
The differential in authority and Power with and in us compared to the demons is so great it cannot be put into human language. Remember our Ephesians text from last week.
Ephesians 1:20-23 (KJV)
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: (Bold added)
22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
The authority and Power resident with and in us so far supersedes that of the devils it cannot be fathomed in human terms. I don’t know if all this teaching on our authority and Power (of God) is for you or me but there it is. Now, let’s get back to our topic of peace, ours and His.
Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV)
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
As you will recall, verse six is our part in the exercise of our peace, and verse seven is God applying any shortfall to the situation. Remember the account by the Apostle Paul of the thorn in the flesh. Paul was under attack by Satan (messenger of Satan) and he was asking God to take away the attack. That is not how we defeat an attack. We must apply our authority in faith and the Grace (Holy Spirit) of God will make up the difference and remove the thorn. So, when our peace is being exercised (by us) to its maximum, God (Grace) will supply the difference needed for the situation. We must do our part.
2 Corinthians 12:7-10 (KJV)
7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
Apparently, the Apostle Paul was trying to do it in His own strength which was insufficient for this particular situation but when He threw all he had into the situation and then threw himself on God, having faith that God would fill the shortfall the messenger of Satan departed. Perhaps the following graphic can be helpful (best I could find). Ignore the measurements.
See yourself as the bottom triangle and what God supplies as the top triangle. Look at going from left to right as increasing maturity in the Lord. When we are first saved God is basically supplying it all just like a newborn in the natural. As we move forward in maturity in Christ Jesus then our portion increases and what God supplies decreases just like in the natural with our children. We will never be independent of God but I think you can see the point being illustrated graphically.

20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
