WORLDVIEW
Greetings dear friend, saints of God, and welcome back to A Well of Truth. Today I will be talking about a topic we have visited before which is “worldview”. When polls are done the numbers are shocking especially among professing Christians. Before moving forward please take a moment to share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. My featured picture for this series is of a well with water and a bucket full of water presumably about to be drawn from the well. Commonly in Scripture water is referring to the Word of God. Water cleanses and gives life, likewise the Word of God cleanses and gives life. As we prepare to briefly delve into our topic let’s consider the following verses.
Romans 12:2 (KJV)
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Are we actively doing this day in and day out. Do our thoughts and our words reflect a transformation to the will of God? Consider this passage.
Ephesians 4:22-24 (KJV)
22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
Have we put off our old way of talking, of behaving and put on the new man in the image of Christ? This will not just fall on any of us, it is a willful, intentional, purposeful, conscious endeavor. Way too many people are crying out to God for Him to change them, isn’t going to happen dear one. You must change and, in the process, He will help but He will not, I emphasis will not do it for you. Let me give an example. I hear people who have been hearing my teachings for years demonstrate that it was not with ears to hear. The use of the word “love” is one example. This word should only be used with reference to God and people but I hear people talking about loving a sports team, ice cream, and perhaps the dog. Really dear ones. Perhaps one would say “that is overboard” or “the Lord knows my heart”.
A recent article titled Percentage of U.S. Adults with a Biblical Worldview Drops to 4 Percent published by Christian Headlines. This study was done by the very reputable Dr. George Barna. This was not 4 percent of Christians but all peoples in the United States. We can deduce that a large minority (a large majority do not) of professing Christians have a Biblical Worldview. Barna points out that a person’s worldview is set by age 13 and does not change much with time. Can you see why the renewing of our minds is going to be work, done on purpose and with great repetition, mindfulness. Next time we about to say “I really love this car” we will say “I really enjoy this car” instead. Let’s not cheapen, make common, the words that should refer to God and people.
Listen to this. Forty-four percent of Christians believe that Jesus did not sin during His life on earth. What!? So, fifty-six percent of professing Christians believe He did sin during His life on earth. A poll last year found that only 37% of U.S. Pastors hold a Biblical Worldview. This study showed that 41% of lead pastors had a Biblical Worldview and only 12% of youth pastors had a Biblical Worldview. These numbers are shocking, at least to me, but I would ask you to just listen to what is being said by those around you. Does it conform to the world’s way of thinking or to a Biblical way of thinking. All of this is bad enough but consider that only 12% of youth pastors have a Biblical Worldview and a person’s worldview is generally set by age 13.
Dear ones, there needs to be a great awakening and repentance within the Church. Let’s quit pointing fingers at the world, they are not the solution, we the Church are the solution. Let’s quit pointing fingers at other Churches, what do we believe, what is our worldview, what is the worldview of the pastors, what about the youth pastor? We will not accomplish this without a change in thinking, it will be supernatural, God working through us. We have a part to play. Only we can change our worldview.
Lord willing, I will have fresh water from the well next Sunday.

13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
