LORD OF HOSTS EXALTED

Greetings dear and precious children of God the Father and welcome back to this enlightening and empowering study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. God is so good dear ones to give us His Word to light our path. He has a wonderful abundant path for each and every person. Our partaking of the abundance of His path is directly proportional to our attention to Him and the path, the Word of God. Our success, I’m talking overflowing abundant success in all things is so simple yet so hard. Do the Word of God, period! Why do we always think we are smarter or have a better path than God has prepared. You talk about insanity. The featured picture today as every Thursday is of Donna and me. This particular picture is from 2019 and was taken at Southside Church of God. Now, please take a moment and share these teachings as widely as possible to expand our reach with the good news. Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read aloud, yes, out loud.
Isaiah 5:16-19 (KJV)
16 But the LORD of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and God that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness.
17 Then shall the lambs feed after their manner, and the waste places of the fat ones shall strangers eat.
18 Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope:
19 That say, Let him make speed, and hasten his work, that we may see it: and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it!
As we review our primary text, we see mention of the “LORD of hosts”. You will remember that the Lord of hosts in the Old and New Testament is the one called Jesus since the eighth day following His birth to the virgin Mary and His supposed father Joseph. A literal translation of the phrase Lord of Hosts is Lord of Heavens angel armies. We often hear that we are in the army of the Lord. Is this true? In the sense that each and every one of us is part of an army of kings, lords, and priests that is true. Back to our main text, verse sixteen. Jesus is exalted or lifted up in the time of judgment. Let’s look at verses sixteen and seventeen in the New Living Translation.
Isaiah 5:16-17 (NLT)
16 But the LORD of Heaven’s Armies will be exalted by his justice. The holiness of God will be displayed by his righteousness.
17 In that day lambs will find good pastures, and fattened sheep and young goatswill feed among the ruins.
We are the lambs’ dear ones, those who followed hard after the Lord, after holiness, and after righteousness. The conversation about and to the people continues through the mouth of Isaiah from God.
Isaiah 5:18-19 (NLT)
18 What sorrow for those who drag their sins behind them
with ropes made of lies, who drag wickedness behind them like a cart!
19 They even mock God and say, “Hurry up and do something!
We want to see what you can do. Let the Holy One of Israel carry out his plan, for we want to know what it is.”
Every generation has had mockers. In the time of Isaiah and in our generation, there are mockers. Doesn’t our text sound like what the Apostle Peter wrote by the direction of the same Holy Spirit?
2 Peter 3:3-5 (KJV)
3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
Unfortunately, many in the world which is somewhat understandable but many in the Church which is inexcusable are willingly ignorant. They want fire insurance (don’t want to go to Hell) but want to live their lives as they choose. This of course is ignorance on steroids. God the creator of all is a loving and wonderful Father and has provided for our lives to be Heaven on earth yet we live in the slums by our own choices.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as your Bible Teacher and a Prophetic Voice in your life I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, doubt it not, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
