FROM THE PROPHETS CHAMBER – WEEK FORTY-ONE
A NUGGET
Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to “From the Prophets Chamber”. Please take a moment and share these teachings as widely as possible to expand the reach of this Ministry by itself. Today will be a nugget from the throne and I pray you find it not only interesting but illuminating seeing something not seen previously. So, let’s start, what about the command to pray for those in authority.
1 Timothy 2:1-6 (KJV)
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
The grammatical construction of the first verse would suggest that this is the Apostle Paul speaking on his own behalf or is he?
2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV)
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
It appears to me that if we apply the above Scripture to verse one, we will do well. In the 1st Timothy text, the Apostle Paul mentions four types of prayer of communication with God. First, he mentions supplications which is the presenting of a petition (Scripture with a specific request). Second, he speaks of prayer which is conversation, inquiry of God, could include a prayer of dedication. Third, we find intercession which is praying, standing in the gap, for others. And, fourth, we find thanksgiving. Are we doing this? Next, let’s focus in on the next verse.
1 Timothy 2:2 (KJV)
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
We do not have a king in America but we do have a government (Democratic Republic), we have those we have put in authority over us at the Federal, State, County, and Community levels. We are instructed to pray for those with all four types of prayer noted in verse one. We are told right in the verse what our goal is with these prayers, what the will of God is in our prayer for those in authority. The will of God is that we have a government, those in authority, which bring about “a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty”. I hope all of us can agree this is a very desirable outcome. What kind of person might do the best job and bringing about this outcome? Let’s see if Scripture can help here.
Proverbs 29:2 (KJV)
2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
Remember that we the redeemed of the Lord are not voting Democrat, Republican, or Independent but according to the Bible. If a particular candidate stands on a pro-choice platform, we do not vote for them, period. We vote for people who embrace life, Bible marriage, and honoring Israel. Let’s move forward to look at verse four.
1 Timothy 2:4 (KJV)
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
I want you to notice something very interesting here. It is possible and I believe we have all witnessed this, to be saved (born again), and not come to a “knowledge of the truth”. These are those who are stuck in place and have not changed in the last twenty years or even the last year. As we gain and apply a knowledge of the Truth we will look more and more like Jesus until we are exactly like Jesus. One last comment on verse five.
1 Timothy 2:5 (KJV)
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
Notice that there is “one God” and “one mediator” between God and us. Notice who it is? It is “the man Christ Jesus”. Today at the right hand of the Father (since the Resurrection) Christ Jesus is been all man (incorruptible flesh and bone), and all God. The attributes of the Almighty God which He laid aside on His way to the womb of Mary being fully restored.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
