A WELL OF TRUTH
BEST USE OF TIME – PART TWO

Greetings dear saints of God and those who are not yet saints and welcome back to The Three Minute Word blog continuing a discussion of the “Best Use of Time”. Before I dive into our study, please take a moment and share these teachings as widely as possible becoming a conduit through which Truth flows. What is the best and highest use of our time? Someone may be thinking “well we need to do things other than go to Church”. Perhaps your thoughts not only included Church but “quiet time” at home morning or night and perhaps a few other things like “home group” and so on. Excluded however were things like our jobs, grocery shopping, and other activities seemingly unrelated to Church. I want to make a distinguishing remark here so that we are all on the same page. The Church is the body of Christ. The building in which we gather is not the Church. When I said “Church” related I am talking about Kingdom of God activities.
Thinking that we have two or more lives separate from God or Kingdom work is a lie of the enemy, there is no natural life that is separate, unrelated, to our spiritual life. We have one life now and forever and that is spiritual. Yes, we have physical, natural, things we do now and that is not going to change in the time to come. ALL of our life activities are in one way or another part of our service to our Heavenly Father, the Kingdom of God, and our fellow man (saved and unsaved) or enjoying the things He has given for us to enjoy. Consider the following passage.
1 Timothy 6:17-19 (KJV)
17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; (Bold added)
18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
As I pointed out last week there are rewards from God in this time and in that to follow for what is done here. What is done here as led of the Holy Spirit with excellence has not only a temporal reward but an eternal reward. Are we faithful in all things? One might be thinking that they can never have fun. Didn’t the Lord Jesus Himself tell us that His yoke is easy and His burden light (Matthew 11:28-30)? Doing the will of God, led of the Spirit, participating and seeing the amazing things He will do through us should be far more exciting, joyous, and rewarding then those things we do of the flesh. We are being led of the Spirit or the flesh which is the will of our spiritual enemies.
Romans 8:6 (KJV)
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Between you and me, I’m going with life and peace and leaving death behind. So, what is the best use and highest use of our time?
Romans 8:14 (KJV)
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
We must be led of the Spirit of God. We should not be looking to another for leadership? Should we look to ourselves, our own training and reasoning or the Spirit of God. I want to follow the leadership of my Heavenly Father not the Father of lies (Satan). Keep in mind that all thoughts first came from God and were pure, and were life. Along comes the devil and uses those thoughts but perverts (twists) them bringing the curse. Keeping in mind that there are times when we are to enjoy by the will of God natural things in this life (1 Timothy 6:17) our best and highest use of time is the following well known verse.
John 14:12 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Will we pay the price of Godly success or cave to the flesh (the devil)? The way of God is easy and light, it is life, but not so with the devil, his way is hard.
Proverbs 13:14-16 (KJV)
14 The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
15 Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.
16 Every prudent man dealeth with knowledge: but a fool layeth open his folly.
Lord willing, I will have more revelation from God about the best use of our time.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as your Bible Teacher and a Prophetic Voice in your life I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, doubt it not, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
