AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

FACE THE FACTS
Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to this enlightening and empowering study of the wonderful Bible Book of Isaiah. God is so good dear friends and partners. Please take a moment and share these teachings as widely as possible expanding the reach of this Ministry by itself. I am not sure where this picture came from, it sure is beautiful. I know the time for this abundant beautiful fall foliage in Maine is past but perhaps this will give you all a warm remembrance as you get out your snow shovels. I know, I am just a little mean. Don’t forget that I am still doing a Wednesday Night Bible Study on Zoom, 5 pm in the Central time zone and 6 pm in the Eastern time zone. Now, let’s turn our attention to our Isaiah text continuing to read out loud, yes, out loud. How does faith come? Is it possible to please God without faith? What is the one essential ingredient to move the Hand of God?
Isaiah 8:9-12 (KJV)
9 Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces.
10 Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.
11 For the LORD spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,
12 Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.
In verses nine and ten the Lord is telling His people they can talk and strategize all they want but they will be shattered. They can counsel among themselves and proclaim God is with us but destruction is still coming. Have we heard anything like this during the COVID-19 pandemic? Repentance is the answer not proclaiming the name of the Lord. For a wicked or evil person to proclaim the name of Jesus is useless, accomplishes nothing. Let’s look at this passage in the Message Bible and see if any of it sounds familiar, anything like today.
Isaiah 8:9-12 (MSG)
9 But face the facts, all you oppressors, and then wring your hands. Listen, all of you, far and near. Prepare for the worst and wring your hands. Yes, prepare for the worst and wring your hands!
10 Plan and plot all you want—nothing will come of it. All your talk is mere talk, empty words, Because when all is said and done, the last word is Immanuel—God-With-Us.
11 GOD spoke strongly to me, grabbed me with both hands and warned me not to go along with this people. He said:
12 “Don’t be like this people, always afraid somebody is plotting against them. Don’t fear what they fear. Don’t take on their worries.
God always has a righteous remnant that with His help will rise to the occasion and whom He protects in the midst of great adversity. As an example, think of Daniel and the three Hebrew children. We see that Isaiah is a righteous man in the midst of a perverse generation. God through His Prophet is speaking to the people about their wickedness and the consequences, now He takes the Prophet by the hand and tells him to be separate from the people under judgment. This may sound easy and simple when we read about it in this instance or others but what about in our own lives? How have we done in separating from those who profess Christ as Lord yet walk in darkness. That does not mean they are robbing banks etc. but they are in the traditions of men and the doctrines of demons which in the eyes of the Lord is evil, wicked. As we look at verse twelve, we might refer to this as getting caught up in conspiracy theories frequently peddled as being the truth. Let’s move a little more forward before I end for today.
Isaiah 8:13-14 (KJV)
13 Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.
14 And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
As we move into these two verses, we see that they are Messianic, this is woven throughout our text. As I have pointed out many times the very reference to the “LORD of hosts” is speaking of Jesus, Jesus in the Old Testament. Jesus has always existed as have the Father, and Holy Spirit. I will pick up here tomorrow, Lord willing.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
