A WELL OF TRUTH
THE TIME OF YOUR VISION

Greetings dear and precious children of God and welcome back to “A WELL OF TRUTH”. Before I proceed forward, please take a moment and share these teachings as widely as possible expanding our reach with the Truth. Thank you for sharing. If you are not sharing, please ask the Lord and reconsider as He leads you. We are already well into 2022. Now, and before now, is a good time to talk to the Lord about His plan for each of us for He has a wonderful plan for everyone. Our loving Father has no plans for any of the curses brought into the earth by sin to be a part of our lives. Do we know what it is He wants today, what we are supposed to be doing in the Kingdom or are we kind of meandering around on our own, leaning to our own understanding? Are we pursuing His vision or ours? Have we ever really asked the Lord what His plans for us were, then listened with the intent to do exactly as He revealed? Did we perhaps get a glimpse of the plan and say “I can’t do that” or worse “I won’t do that”? Perhaps we never asked Him. In just a moment I will be looking at what I hope is a familiar Scripture but first I want to very briefly set the stage, the context.
Habakkuk 1:12 (KJV)
12 Art thou not from everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One? we shall not die. O LORD, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.
God’s people have gone their own way, the devil has a judgment and the curses of sin are upon them and the invasion by the Chaldeans is the judgment allowed. The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). God’s people in their sin have opened the door to the enemy and now he through the Chaldeans is raising havoc. All the while the Lord through His Prophets, in this case Habakkuk are crying out to the people to get back on God’s plan. Now, let’s continue reading out loud and read the primary Scripture for today.
Habakkuk 2:1-4 (KJV)
1 I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.
2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.
God has watchmen (persons) on the wall at all times. A person on an elevated wall can see within the camp (God’s people) and without the camp (heathen). These watchmen on the walls are primarily His Prophets. However, I would point out that each one of us has a responsibility to be upon our watch (guard, lookout) for ourselves and our family. Do we listen for the Lord’s course corrections or just ignore them inviting (in ignorance perhaps) the curses? Look at verse two of our text. Have we written the vision God gave us for our lives? Is the vision clear and specific? Can we read it as we run this race of life furthering the Kingdom of God as first priority? The word ‘run’ in this second verse can also be translated as ‘to guard’. Are we about God the Father’s business with a clear vision which we guard with all diligence?
All visions have a time course, it may be short or protracted, that is not our concern, our responsibility is to run the course no matter how long. We must continue every day in faith with patience to obtain the prize, the goal, the fulness of the vision.
Hebrews 6:12 (KJV)
12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
As we move into verse four, we see that persons lifted up in pride, trusting in themselves or man and not God fail in the end.
Habakkuk 2:4 (KJV)
4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.
Look at this in The Living Bible.
Habakkuk 2:4 (TLB)
4 “Note this: Wicked men trust themselves alone [as these Chaldeans do], and fail; but the righteous man trusts in me and lives!
Let us trust the Lord and His plan for our lives and live.
Jeremiah 17:5-7 (KJV)
5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
Lord willing, I will have fresh encouragement directly from the Throne next Sunday.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
I speak the blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, doubt it not, then speak it over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
