A WELL OF TRUTH
WHAT ABOUT HOPE? – PART TWO

Greetings dear friends and fellow believers and welcome back to our Sunday teachings titled; “A WELL OF TRUTH”. Today I am continuing to deal with the Truth of ‘hope’. Before I move once again into our subject matter, please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible. Thank you for sharing. You are a vital part of this Ministry and are taking your place (in part) in advancing the Kingdom of God. If you did not share you might ask yourself, why? We love you either way and there is nothing you can do about it.
A short time ago Donna and I were listening to one of our favorite teachers and the idea of Bible ‘hope’ was briefly discussed. As you may recall from last week, the Bible definition of the ‘hope’ I am referencing is a confident expectation or anticipation (Greek Strong’s Number 1680). Confident in who, in what? God, the Word of God! As I was thinking about this, before starting to write I had the following thought: gifts of the Spirit (1 Cor 12 & 14) are tools to build the Kingdom but faith, love, and hope are spiritual laws that govern those gifts. Spiritual law is as certain to manifest as physical laws when triggered. But, do we know how to trigger these laws? Now, back to the teacher and the teaching I mentioned above. The teacher went on to make the point that ‘hope’ is one of the big three based on the love chapter.
1 Corinthians 13:9-13 (KJV)
9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
As I thought about this topic, inquired of the Lord, I was reminded that each denomination and even individual churches within a denomination have a particular focus. In some one may hear a lot about love, in another faith, in another prophecy, and in another evangelism, and so on. Is this a Bible model, was this modeled in the Ministry of Jesus our prime example the model whom we are follow hard after? Short answer, NO! A partial body can never even start to accomplish what a whole body will accomplish. This is a major impediment to the will of God in the earth today and really since the first century.
Faith is an unshakeable confidence, trust, reliance in God and in His Word. There is zero doubt in this faith. Doubt is brought about by fear. To fear is giving place to the devil and is a choice we make. Fear contaminates and makes the faith which brings the manifestation of the Word of God inoperative. Love (agapē) is the power or the fuel of faith. The God kind of faith, the faith that brings the manifestation of the promises of God. Remember, the God kind of love is obedient to Scripture, is selfless, and abides by Blood Covenant. God is all about the heart, what do we really believe, what do we really think, and are our motives pure like His.
Galatians 5:5-6 (KJV)
5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love. (Bold added)
With the help of the Spirit (Holy Spirit) we exercise our patience, “wait for”. When we stand in patience with thanksgiving the Lord will make up any difference that is needed to successfully stand against our spiritual enemies. Next, we see the same word ‘hope’ as in 1 Cor 13:13. This is a confident expectation, confidence that righteousness is ours by the law of faith. Then we see in verse six above that this is all made certain by the law of love, our exercise of agapē (love). As I conclude for this week let me make a point that perhaps I should have made earlier. This hope is a promise of God which we imagine, see, ourselves being a recipient. We also see that receiving this gift (promise of finances, healing, etc.) will not only benefit us immensely but will enable us concerning our work for and in the Kingdom of God and those God has placed around us.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
