SING UNTO THE LORD

Greetings dear saints of God and welcome back to revealing and instructive Bible Study of the Book of Isaiah. God is so good to give us His Word so that we can know how the Kingdom of God operates and we as citizens and family know our obligations and privileges. Yes, we are Kingdom citizens and we need to know (really know, as part of our identity) operate and act as those of a royal priesthood. As I move forward, please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible to increase this Ministries reach with the gospel, the good news, the Truth. Thank you for sharing! You are an important, irreplaceable part of this Ministry. The beautiful picture again today shows the waning days of winter in Maine and was provided by our good friend and man of God, Joe Getchell Jr.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and continue reading out loud. If you are new to The Three Minute Word, let me explain why it is important to read Scripture (especially) aloud. According to Romans 10:17 faith comes by hearing the Word of God, and it is impossible to please God without faith according to Hebrews 11:6. Now, to our Bible text reading aloud with ears to hear.
Isaiah 12:1-6 (KJV)
1 And in that day thou shalt say, O LORD, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me.
2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.
3 Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.
4 And in that day shall ye say, Praise the LORD, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted.
5 Sing unto the LORD; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth.
6 Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.
As we know this Book of Isaiah is a highly Messianic Book but also instructive in righteousness and a warning concerning disobedience. The first ten chapters detailed the disobedience of this ancient people (and us) and the consequences absent repentance. Are there those among us who are living in the judgment of the Lord due to disobedience, don’t even know it, think it is a part of the Christian walk? Sickness, financial issues, and other hardships are not a Kingdom of God benefit. Let us never be confused about who is good and who is bad. God NEVER brings bad things into our lives; He allows bad things due to our ungodly choices. The devil brings an accusation, when found true, God renders a judgment and the demons have an access until repentance comes from our heart and lips. Chapters eleven and twelve have been prophetic and revelatory concerning the then coming Messiah and of events that are yet future like this 12th Chapter of Isaiah. Let’s now turn our attention to the fifth verse above of our primary text and read the following Psalm aloud. The theme here is not just singing unto the Lord but in the process extol the wonderful things He has done.
Psalm 98:1-9 (MSG)
1 Sing to GOD a brand-new song. He’s made a world of wonders! He rolled up his sleeves, He set things right.
2 GOD made history with salvation, He showed the world what he could do.
3 He remembered to love us, a bonus To his dear family, Israel—indefatigable love. The whole earth comes to attention. Look—God’s work of salvation!
4 Shout your praises to GOD, everybody! Let loose and sing! Strike up the band!
5 Round up an orchestra to play for GOD, Add on a hundred-voice choir.
6 Feature trumpets and big trombones, Fill the air with praises to King GOD.
7 Let the sea and its fish give a round of applause, With everything living on earth joining in.
8 Let ocean breakers call out, “Encore!” And mountains harmonize the finale—
9 A tribute to GOD when he comes, When he comes to set the earth right. He’ll straighten out the whole world, He’ll put the world right, and everyone in it.
O what a wonderful Lord we serve, not because we have to, but because we choose to, and recognize His astonishing love (agape) towards us. What a privilege dear saints! Deciding not to be in the Kingdom of God can only be the choice of a fool thinking themselves so wise. More on this tomorrow.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember we love you and the Lord loves you and there is nothing you can do about it.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper
