WATERS SHALL FAIL
Greetings dear and precious people who follow The Three Minute Word blog and who partner (financially) with Eastern Gate Ministries International Inc. Our partners are so essential in getting the Truth out to all who will receive, prove, believe, and do the Truth. The funds are essential, as the Lord leads, to reach into people’s lives and make a tangible difference. Recently we have sponsored a brief Sabbatical for a local Pastor, and are currently reaching into a precious saints’ life experiencing serious physical limitations. Money in the hands of a believer is to be a tool to change the lives of people and to be a witness of the goodness of our God. Our God is not pleased by the poverty of His people, looks bad for Him. What would you think of a dad who walked around in $1000 suits but sent his kids into the world in old dirty tore up cloths? And, let us all get all of this poverty baloney out of our thinking. It is a false idea, a lie, that being spiritually rich and physically poor can coexist, and is in fact the will of God. We are to love (agape) the Lord our God above ALL else and we are to love (agape) people after that! We are Kingdom of God sons and our primary focus is to be about Kingdom of God business. We are joint heirs of this Kingdom; it is as much ours as our Fathers’!

Perhaps you are in an arid place but know that you can come out and you can come out very soon. How soon is not up to God, it is up to you! Now, let’s delve into our Scripture today from the wonderful Book of Isaiah, continuing to read out loud. Please don’t be rebellious, read it out loud. You are not rebelling against me, or engaged in some innocuous (innocent) act, but you are rebelling against God.
Isaiah 19:5-8 (KJV)
5 And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up.
6 And they shall turn the rivers far away; and the brooks of defence shall be emptied and dried up: the reeds and flags shall wither.
7 The paper reeds by the brooks, by the mouth of the brooks, and every thing sown by the brooks, shall wither, be driven away, and be no more.
8 The fishers also shall mourn, and all they that cast angle into the brooks shall lament, and they that spread nets upon the waters shall languish.
As I discussed yesterday, we are indeed in passages of Scripture that tend to confound (me at least) however the Lord is being good to me (hopefully us) and giving some insights of then and of now. Recordings of the events of these ancient peoples is just not a history lesson but is very applicable to us today. It is shows us what to do or not to do. Unfortunately, all too often it demonstrates the consequences of rebellion, and there always are adverse consequences. Not because the Lord enjoys punishment (justice) but He is a God of justice. The lack of punishment would be an injustice to the obedient. Now, back to our Isaiah text. This text is showing us the way of the wicked, the way of the wicked is hard. This is because their father is Satan and he and his hoards come only to steal, kill, and destroy in people’s lives. This is a time when the economy has tanked. Could this be talking about what is recorded by the Prophet Ezekiel?
Ezekiel 30:10-13 (NAB)
10 Thus says the Lord GOD: I will put an end to the throngs of Egypt by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon.
11 He and his people with him, the most ruthless of nations, shall be brought in to devastate the land. They shall draw their swords against Egypt, and fill the land with the slain.
12 I will turn the Niles into dry land and sell the land over to the power of the wicked. The land and everything in it I will hand over to foreigners to devastate. I, the LORD, have spoken.
13 Thus says the Lord GOD: I will put an end to the great ones of Memphis and the princes of the land of Egypt, that they may be no more. I will cast fear into the land of Egypt, and devastate Pathros.
Ezekiel is a contemporary of the Prophet Daniel and Nebuchadnezzar and over a 100 years closer to the Cross than Isaiah. Perhaps the Isaiah text refers to 2 Kings 6:29 (an event past) when they were eating each other’s babies? Let’s take just a very brief look at the use of the reference to waters. Most of the time the references to ‘water’ unless the context is talking of physical water expressly the Lord is talking the Word of God. When we have rejected the Word to a certain point there is a time when it dries up and we are left to our own wicked devices which is disastrous. Perhaps Isaiah, the Lord, is referring to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
Revelation 6:4-8 (KJV)
4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.
5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.
8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
