THE DILUTION OF TRUTH
Greetings dear and precious followers, friends, and partners of The Three Minute Word blog and this Ministry, Eastern Gate Ministries International, Inc. You have probably noticed I am not much of an ear tickler or coddle but one speaking the Truth, there is no greater love. There is a great place for gentleness and encouragement but zero place for the compromise of the Truth. As we are moving forward, please take a moment and share this teaching by every means available to you. By doing this you are taking this Truth, this gospel of the Kingdom, to places perhaps we are not and cannot currently reach. Thank you to those who shared. Don’t forget we are always receiving financial partners to this Ministry, they are vital, we are on the alert 24/7 to opportunities to intervene in peoples lives and that requires resources. A great big thank you goes out to those who are giving generously into this Ministry and become with us the Hands of God in the earth. Now, let’s prepare to move into our study, continuing to read out loud building faith which pleases God.
2 Timothy 2:14-16 (KJV)
14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (Bold added)
16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
The above Scripture and many others do not suggest that we study the Word of God, but command us to study the Word of God. In addition, it is commanded that we rightly divide the Word of God. Brothers and sisters in Christ, this is a high calling but we are well equipped if you are born again and baptized in the Holy Spirit.
As you look at the title, know that there really is no dilution of the Truth, it is either the Truth or not. This dilution concept and softening of Truth is a concept, a lie, of the devils. This all started in my prayer time this morning (May 10, 2022) and now it is coming to you full steam. Many times, this is how it works. I remember as a very young boy in school we did this exercise where the teacher whispered something to one student and they were to whisper it to the one next to them until it had gone around the room. The teacher would then ask the last person to tell the statement and then the first person. There was always a very distinct difference in the two reports. Perhaps the first person was told that Johnny ran around the flag pole three times and then the last person reported that Johnny had three flags. Two quite different statement although Johnny, a flag, and three are in both statement.
This is going on in Scripture, declared from the pulpit. Our preaching, teaching, and other statements must always be the Truth in the pulpit or otherwise. Now, many times, when a statement is made one cannot go back and again lay the full foundation, context, for the statement. However, in the context, and in the environment, if one is a regular listener there should be no confusion. The Truth (capitol T) is the unaltered Word of God in context or rightly divided. The Word of God is the only source of Truth. There is no such thing as my Truth and your Truth. When you hear, “well this is what I believe”, or let’s just agree to disagree, you know one of you is 100% in error. Not so interested in what you believe but in what the Bible says. The controversy is not about you or me, what does the Bible actually say? That can only be arrived at by careful study not simply silent reading.
The truth (small t) can be anything including the Word of God but it is incomplete and perhaps not in the full context. When essential elements are left out it is deception, it is a lie. For example, you go to the store and while there you see an old boyfriend or girlfriend and you flirt some. You then come home and tell your spouse that you have been to the store. This is deception, a lie, and will rot your soul, your relationship with the Lord, and your marriage.
I had thought I could deal with this in one teaching however obviously not, so I will pick up with this tomorrow in the, A Well of Truth teaching. The Lord was also bringing some fresh insights about gossip and how perverse it is, a dilution of truth, in essence a lie. We talk the negative and not the positive giving a very false picture of the person and incomplete. Lord willing, I will have more fresh Word next Saturday.
