A SIGN AND A WITNESS

Greetings dear and precious sons and daughters of God. If you are still counted among the ranks of the heathen (unsaved) you can change that in the next few seconds.
Romans 10:9-10 (KJV)
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
If you said what is commonly referred to as the “sinners’ prayer” with your whole heart and not just as something to say, you are saved and welcome to the Kingdom of God. Please take a moment right now and share this teachings as widely as possible by every available means to expand this Ministries reach with the Truth.
Before we move on to our primary Bible text, let me ask a question, how serious is sin to us, to God? We don’t often think of sin this way but at its core it is a rejection of God. God and His Word are inseparable just as we and our word are inseparable. How serious is that? In the short run it brings the curse into our lives which can include physical death, and can even result in eternal (spiritual) death. Do we believe God is just? Does the crime fit the punishment? Let us think upon these things as we move to continue reading out loud our primary Bible text.
Isaiah 19:18-21 (KJV)
18 In that day shall five cities in the land of Egypt speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the LORD of hosts; one shall be called, The city of destruction.
19 In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the LORD.
20 And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the LORD because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a saviour, and a great one, and he shall deliver them.
21 And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yea, they shall vow a vow unto the LORD, and perform it.
As we examine this text it appears to me that we are not just talking in types and shadows but Egypt the nation. As you may be aware several nations now have treaties with Israel in the middle east. The first of these treaties in the late 70’s was Jordan and Egypt. Recall that we have discussed that an area of Jordan called Petra is where the eagle (? United States) will take believing Jews to hide during the great tribulation. From our current text we see that much of Egypt will know the Lord one day, I believe soon, in the future. The timing of all of this is difficult (for me) but appears to be near the end of the Great Tribulation perhaps even leading into the early Millennial Reign of Christ in the earth. Now, let’s move along in our primary Bible text.
Isaiah 19:22-25 (KJV)
22 And the LORD shall smite Egypt: he shall smite and heal it: and they shall return even to the LORD, and he shall be intreated of them, and shall heal them.
23 In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians.
24 In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land:
25 Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.
One thing I want to address right out of the gate and which is that God does not ‘smite’ to show He can heal. The smiting is at the hand of Satan and is allowed by God (a judgment rendered) due to sin. Healing is at the hand of God. As we have seen a great healing is coming to Egypt. Today Egypt is a mixed Christian and Islamic nation but soon the bondages of Satan will be broken from that nation and Jesus shall reign. We see from our text there will be perhaps superhighways between Egypt and the land of the ancient Assyrians. The land of the ancient Assyrians includes Syria, Iraq, and even Iran. Wow! These nations will be blessed because of Israel and their treatment of Israel. In the end the antichrist will not eliminate the seed of Abraham, God Himself raises up those who stand with Israel. As the chapter ends, we see God calling both the Egyptian and the Assyrian His people, the work of His hand. What a wonderful Lord we serve.
Lord willing, I will pick up with chapter twenty tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
