AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

ISRAEL IS IN TROUBLE

Greetings precious brothers and sisters in Christ. If you are not a brother or sister in Christ you can be in just a few moments.
Romans 10:9-10 (KJV)
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
If you prayed this prayer and were translated from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of His (the Fathers’) dear Son (saved), send us a note about the good news. You will not regret this decision especially on the day your body dies. Everybody in this life chooses either Heaven or Hell, God does not choose, we choose. If you think you know what opposites are, you are at a new unimaginable level when comparing Heaven and Hell. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. The featured picture this week except for Thursday will be depicting the Prophet Isaiah prophesying. Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 33:6-12 (TLB)
6 An abundance of salvation is stored up for Judah in a safe place, along with wisdom and knowledge and reverence for God.
7 But now your ambassadors weep in bitter disappointment, for Assyria has refused their cry for peace.
8 Your roads lie in ruins; travelers detour on back roads. The Assyrians have broken their peace pact and care nothing for the promises they made in the presence of witnesses—they have no respect for anyone.
9 All the land of Israel is in trouble; Lebanon has been destroyed; Sharon has become a wilderness; Bashan and Carmel are plundered.
10 But the Lord says, “I will stand up and show my power and might.
11 You Assyrians will gain nothing by all your efforts. Your own breath will turn to fire and kill you.
12 Your armies will be burned to lime, like thorns cut down and tossed in the fire.
As you know from the first chapter God has been dealing with His people through the Prophets, primarily Isaiah, about their sin and the destruction at the door. Talk about longsuffering. Our God is really longsuffering and that is good for us and an example for us. I am sure that I have put Him to the test more than once. We have the same potential for patience our Heavenly Father has, He breathed of Himself into mankind. Our fruits of the spirit including patience or longsuffering are quite infantile but we are charged with becoming mature. As we have read our text chapter to chapter, please don’t see this an account of an ancient peoples whom we are nothing like. We are just like them! As we look back at our text God is telling His people, who are in rebellion, of a wonderful reality that is stored up for them. The key is they must turn to the wisdom, knowledge, and reverence of God to walk in that salvation, a place of safety. Are we doing our own thing like these people, tipping our hat to God, all the while heading into disaster with no defense?
God spells out for them for the I don’t know how many time what the Assyrians are about to do, yet they seem oblivious. At this time, we know that all but Jerusalem is destroyed but eventually after the rejection of Messiah He must allow the destruction of the place where He put His name, about 70 A.D. As an interesting aside, at least to me, the time between Jesus starting His earthly Ministry, about 30 A.D. and the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans was forty years. Forty is the Bible number of testing. God gave them a space of time to repent and they did not. Then in verse ten God once again talks about the outcome for the Assyrians (because the go too far) after they destroy the land of Israel. Did the Assyrians pay attention? No they did not and a mighty empire came to naught as have many since who did not listen and came against God’s people.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
