THE GLORY OF THE LORD

Greeting dear and precious saints and welcome back to our empowering Bible Study of the wonderful Bible Book of Isaiah. How good is our God? He is nothing but good, the other guy, the other kingdom not so. As we are moving forward, please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you to expand our reach with the Truth. Thank you so much for sharing, you have a vital role with others in this Ministry, in furthering the Kingdom of God. The featured picture today is of a Church in Idaho and it is to remind us “to pray for all God’s holy people”.
Ephesians 6:18 (New Jerusalem Bible)
18 In all your prayer and entreaty keep praying in the Spirit on every possible occasion. Never get tired of staying awake to pray for all God’s holy people,
I hope you noticed how critical it is to pray for one another especially in the Spirit, this is in what is commonly referred to as tongues. This intercession one for another can be life or death, Heaven or Hell literally.
2 Timothy 2:24-26 (NJB)
24 and a servant of the Lord must not engage in quarrels, but must be kind to everyone, a good teacher, and patient.
25 He must be gentle when he corrects people who oppose him, in the hope that God may give them a change of mind so that they recognise the truth
26 and come to their senses, escaping the trap of the devil who made them his captives and subjected them to his will.
This can be guidance in talking with people and in praying for people so they can escape the traps of the demons. People can be very sincere but caught in a false belief and being held in bondage to the demons. Just believing something does not offer protection. One may say they don’t believe in Hell but I hope we all know how that is going to end. Have you read my book “Sacred Cows Among the Ekklesia”? Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in Isaiah continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 40:3-8 (KJV)
3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
5 And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
6 The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:
7 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.
8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
I had mentioned yesterday that as we come into verse six it is as if we are eavesdropping on a private conversation between God and John the Baptist. Before we bring our focus back to that let’s further consider the verses before that and the message that symbolism is giving to us. Perhaps the following passage will help with that as well.
Matthew 3:1-6 (KJV)
1 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
4 And the same John had his raiment of camel’s hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.
5 Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,
6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.
Remember, to walk hand in hand with the Lord we must repent of sin to have standing and be released from the bondage of that sin. As Amos 3:3 tells us we must be in agreement with Him in order to walk with Him. The Lord is not in agreement with any sin, zippo zero! In order to walk the straight and narrow way with the Lord we must get the valleys, mountains, hills, cliffs, and rough places representing entrapment’s of the devil, evil thinking (anything not of the Lord) out of our lives. These are the things that allow evil thoughts, words, and ways and will bring us right back into evil just as we studied that King Hezekiah returned to pride.
Isaiah 40:4 (NJB)
4 Let every valley be filled in, every mountain and hill be levelled, every cliff become a plateau, every escarpment a plain;
Tomorrow Lord willing, I will pick up right here talking more about this prophecy and John the Baptist before moving to the fragile and temporary nature of man in this life.

PRAYERS AND QUESTIONS – please contact us and we will respond. Our goal is to build a solid foundation upon which children of God can become sons of God, stand and do exploits in Jesus’ name.
PARTNERSHIP AND GIVING – Those of you who are not Partners of this Ministry and you find this ministry to be of value to you and perhaps others with whom you share it, we ask you to consider becoming Partners. A Partner is one who prays for the Ministry on a regular basis and contributes to the Ministry on a regular basis (monthly, quarterly, annually). Thank you and may the Lord be pleased with your decision.
