THE THREE MINUTE WORD
Wednesday – August 30, 2023, Elul 13, 5783
Greetings dear children of God. You are all children of God, right? If not take care of that right now. When our lives end, and everyone’s does, your body goes into the ground but your spirit/soul goes to either Heaven or Hell. In case you are ambivalent about it, there is no comparison between the two, make Heaven your home today, this very moment.
Romans 10:9-10 (KJV)
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
If you confessed this Scripture for the first time, welcome to the family, and drop us a line with your testimony. Now, welcome back to our ongoing Bible study of the wonderful Book of Isaiah. Before proceeding forward please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. The featured picture today is of a beautiful goldfinch feasting on a seed bell. The photo was supplied by Marilyn Stevens who takes such beautiful wildlife pictures especially birds. Thank you, Marilyn.
Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the wonderful Book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 44:21-24 (KJV)
21 Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for thou art my servant: I have formed thee; thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me.
22 I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.
23 Sing, O ye heavens; for the LORD hath done it: shout, ye lower parts of the earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel.
24 Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;
Notice in verse twenty-one the use of both the name Jacob and Israel. We have mentioned this before with Jacob being the name used when either Jacob himself or the nation is not dependent upon God. Jacob means deceiver or supplanter. Aren’t these also names used for Satan? Israel, meaning to rule as God is used when Jacob (birth name) was dependent upon God or the nation was depending upon Jehovah. Now which one did the Lord form? Jacob and Israel or Jacob or perhaps Israel. God’s original intent with Adam was that man rule in the earth as God and He (God) has never repented of that intent, it is His unchanging will. Jesus restored us to a place where we can exercise His delegated authority and be backed by the Blessing, the Power of the Holy Spirit. We are now restored in part but with the Rapture we (the people of God) will be fully restored. Israel is the one God formed and He assures them that they will not be forgotten. Notice this is not conditional.
As we move into verse twenty-two the Lord tells His people He has blotted out or erased their transgressions. This is before they returned to Him. He again pleads, return to me, “I have redeemed thee”. This is a picture of what happened at Calvary for all of mankind. Jesus paid it all, blotted out our sins, if we will receive Him, His sacrifice (the Blood) and make Him Lord of all, over all of our life. It is a free gift but we must receive it and we do that at the start with the words of our mouths from our heart.
As we go forward into verse twenty-three the Lord tells us this is a time for rejoicing. This change of heart. Sound familiar?
Luke 15:10 (KJV)
10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
Jacob has been returned as Israel, the righteous one. He commands rejoicing in Heaven and in the “lower parts of the earth”. Where would the “lower parts of the earth” be found. Is He talking about those in Hell or perhaps those in the Bosom of Abraham? I suspect both. Although the Bosom of Abraham was nothing like Hell, Heaven is way better and the Messiah must come of the Seed of Abraham for their release. Those in Hell like the account of Lazarus and the rich man don’t want their relatives to come to that awful place.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
