THE THREE MINUTE WORD
Thursday – August 31, 2023, Elul 14, 5783
Greetings dear children of God. You are all children of God, right? If not take care of that right now. When our lives end, and everyone’s does, your body goes into the ground but your spirit/soul goes to either Heaven or Hell. In case you are ambivalent about it, there is no comparison between the two, make Heaven your home today, this very moment.
Romans 10:9-10 (KJV)
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 44:24-28 (KJV)
24 Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;
25 That frustrateth the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish;
26 That confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his messengers; that saith to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited; and to the cities of Judah, Ye shall be built, and I will raise up the decayed places thereof:
27 That saith to the deep, Be dry, and I will dry up thy rivers:
28 That saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid.
The Lord continues telling them He is their redeemer and in the context of the chapter there is no other. He says I “formed thee from the womb”. What is He talking about? It is my understanding that the womb in this case is the whole Abram/Abraham journey. From Genesis chapter 12 through chapter 22. Without this blood covenant and Abram/Abraham’s faith their would have been no legal pathway for the Messiah into the earth. As a little aside this was not by Abram/Abraham alone no more than it was by the Heavenly Father alone. Isaac had to be willing to be the sacrifice just as Jesus was willing to be the sacrifice for all mankind. Redemption came forth out of the womb of the faith of Abraham.
Romans 4:16 (KJV)
16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
We are reminded that the Lord is the Creator, it didn’t happen by itself, or by the hand of another god. In verse twenty-five we are told that He frustrates the fake but confirms the words of His messengers (people not angels). Verse twenty-six is powerful and a promise for those who obediently speak forth in His behalf His Words. Let’s look at the NLT for these last few verses.
Isaiah 44:26-28 (NLT)
26 But I carry out the predictions of my prophets! By them I say to Jerusalem, ‘People will live here again,’ and to the towns of Judah, ‘You will be rebuilt; I will restore all your ruins!’
27 When I speak to the rivers and say, ‘Dry up!’ they will be dry.
28 When I say of Cyrus, ‘He is my shepherd,’ he will certainly do as I say. He will command, ‘Rebuild Jerusalem’; he will say, ‘Restore the Temple.’”
Cyrus is not even born when this Prophecy first comes forth. It is a couple of hundred years before the command to rebuild the Temple comes from Cyrus. O how great is our God.
Ezra 1:1-3 (KJV)
1 Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,
2 Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.
3 Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the LORD God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week, next month. Remember we love you and there is nothing you can do about it.

13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
