ISRAEL SHALL BE SAVED – PART FIVE

Monday – October 9, 2023, Tishrei 24, 5784

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to our delightful study of the Bible Book of Isaiah.  What a wonderful Book and what a loving God to give us insights, a lamp for our feet.  Before moving forward please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you.  Thank you so much for sharing.  The featured picture today of seven pillars is to remind us all to pray for the seven pillars of society.  The heathen will not going be the ones to right our national ship, it must be the righteous.  Dear ones, each of us are responsible to be sure we are in the sphere of influence (pillar) God chose for us fully representing Him with excellence.  Are you ten times more excellent, a problem solver, in your call like the three Hebrew children and Daniel (Daniel 1:20)?  If not, why not?

Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud.  Yes, out loud, you know why.  

Isaiah 45:17-19 (KJV)

17 But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.

18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

19 I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.

You will recall that we are talking about our obligation to pray for, minister to, and honor the Jewish peoples, the nation of Israel.  Our primary text for this rather lengthy, Holy Spirit directed, study is verse 17 of our primary Bible text above.  We have read in the first 45 chapters of Isaiah and then Isaiah 65:1-7 the rebellion, the sin of Israel and the consequences which were never for their good.  Rebellion against God makes Satan your god and he has nothing to give or for that matter that he wants to give any human person.  Now, what does God say about Israel and the Church through the Apostle Paul. 

Romans 11:1-5 (KJV)

1 I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.

2 God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,

3 Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.

4 But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.

5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

As we read verse five, we might conclude, not much has changed.  As we look around one might wonder who has not bended their knee to Baal (false gods).  Let’s move forward in this 11^th chapter of Romans.

Romans 11:6-8 (KJV)

6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded

8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.

Before the Cross, the victory in Hell, the preaching to the captives in the Bosom of Abraham, the Resurrection and the Day of Pentecost salvation was by works, now it is by Grace.  Don’t be confused, many think that now it is by grace alone.  That is not true and was never true.  What triggers Grace, our works (faith and words commonly).  Consider salvation as an example.

Romans 10:9-10 (KJV)

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

The works are confessing with our mouth and believing in our heart, our works, a demonstration of faith triggers Grace and we are saved, born again.  Faith without works is dead.

14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
