BUT THE WICKED

Greetings dear friends, partners, and followers of this Ministry and The Three Minute Word. The Lord is good and greatly to be praised. Dear ones we are so blessed to have the whole of the Word of God, light for our path. These people in the time of Isaiah did not have what many today unfortunately take for granted. The featured picture is of an old Church in the State of Oklahoma. These Church pictures are to remind us to pray for the Church, your local Church and the greater Church.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible Text picking up with verse twenty. Please continue to read out loud, yes, out loud, you know why.
Isaiah 57:18-21 (NIV)
18 I have seen his ways, but I will heal him; I will guide him and restore comfort to him,
19 creating praise on the lips of the mourners in Israel. Peace, peace, to those far and near,” says the LORD. “And I will heal them.”
20 But the wicked are like the tossing sea, which cannot rest, whose waves cast up mire and mud.
21 “There is no peace,” says my God, “for the wicked.”
We are about to wind up chapter 57 and then plunge into another exciting chapter of this wonderful Book. In the preceding verses God is once again enticing His people to Himself, requiring repentance and spelling out the wonderful life, path He has all prepared for them. Yet, they do not. Have you, or I, ever been in this place? Of course, we have before Christ. As we meditate upon these last two verses of the chapter think back upon what He has promised His people with heartfelt repentance. Of course, this is where His people are now in their time, many in the Church in our time.
Just as one wave of the sea follows another so does adversity for the wicked, the heathen. I might add, that is so for those in the Church who persist in ignorance, in sin, or are running from their call, their place in the body. God ends this chapter speaking through His Prophet Isaiah that there is no peace for the wicked. So, there is no confusion, anyone that is not saved is wicked even if they are your favorite aunt. It is wicked or twisted to reject the call of the Lord. There are times when the wicked have a type or season of peace but it is not the peace of the Lord but of the world. This is what Jesus had to say.
John 14:27 (KJV)
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Who determines if our hearts are troubled, like the sea in verse 20 of our primary text? Who sees to it that they are not afraid? The answer to both questions is you and me, He does not and will not, actually cannot, do it for us. Remember peace like all the other fruits of the spirit including love are not emotion or feeling based but knowledge based. Listen to the Apostle Peter speaking at the behest of the Holy Spirit.
2 Peter 1:2 (KJV)
2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
How do we increase the function of Grace in our lives? How do we increase the peace functioning in our lives? Through our knowledge of God, of Jesus our Lord. This is not just information or head knowledge but revelation in our heart upon which we do not waver. Many wonderful things are available to us but we have the pivotal role.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
