HEAL, COMFORT, PEACE – PART TWO

Greetings dear friends, partners, and followers of this Ministry and The Three Minute Word. The Lord is good and greatly to be praised. Dear ones we are so blessed to have the whole of the Word of God, light for our path. These people in the time of Isaiah did not have what many today unfortunately take for granted. The featured picture is of an old Church in the State of Montana. These Church pictures are to remind us to pray for the Church, your local Church and the greater Church.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible Text and continue to examine three key words in verses 18 and 19. These three words are heal, comfort, and peace. Please continue to read out loud.
Isaiah 57:18-21 (NIV)
18 I have seen his ways, but I will heal him; I will guide him and restore comfort to him,
19 creating praise on the lips of the mourners in Israel. Peace, peace, to those far and near,” says the LORD. “And I will heal them.”
20 But the wicked are like the tossing sea, which cannot rest, whose waves cast up mire and mud.
21 “There is no peace,” says my God, “for the wicked.”
Yesterday we discussed the word “heal” and that this was an all-inclusive healing. At that time the spirit could not be healed for it was before Calvary however the soul (mind, will, and emotions) and body could be healed. The healing of the soul is so vital for it is the soul that imagines and then if not reigned in takes our life in the direction of the imagination, good or bad. This is where the renewing of the mind (Law of Displacement) is so vital, for them, and for us.
Moving forward let’s consider the word “comforts”. This is an interesting word as you will see. This Hebrew word translated to English as comforts means to be consoled, made comfort (-able), and restore repenting according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. So, in context the Lord will not only console His son Israel, but restore a comfortable life, and interestingly restore repentance. There is a lot of comfort that comes when we really repent, not just sorry we were caught or trying to bring comfort or quiet our own conscience.
Moving to verse nineteen in the KJV lets deal with the initial phrase of the verse “I create the fruit of the lips”.
Isaiah 57:19 (KJV)
19 I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him.
The decision as to what to speak is up to the individual. However, the fruit, what is produced by those words is judged by the One who wrote all Spiritual Law.
Hebrews 1:3 (KJV)
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; (emphasis added)
Now, what about “peace” in verse nineteen? We have discussed this word, this potential reality, many times. I say “potential” for it is entirely up to us to receive it, believe it, doubt not, and do our part. This Hebrew word is transliterated to English as shālôm meaning to be safe, well, happy, in health, having prosperity, having peace, walking in the rest of God, being whole according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. This promise is given to the whole nation, those near and far. Repentance is involved in all of this, it is essential, none of it is going to happen without repentance, true repentance. All of this sounds a lot like the following Scripture.
2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
