THEY WEAVE THE SPIDER’S WEB

Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to our Bible Study of this amazing Book of Isaiah. God is so good to give this ancient people and us a light for our path. The featured picture is of a beautiful old Church in the State of Idaho. This is to remind us to pray for our local Church, the Church in our State, and the Church (body of Christ) in our nation. Much of the body of Christ is outside your denomination or lack of denomination. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the Book of Isaiah.

Isaiah 59:4-7 (NASB)

4 No one sues righteously and no one pleads honestly. They trust in confusion and speak lies; They conceive mischief and bring forth iniquity.

5 They hatch adders’ eggs and weave the spider’s web; He who eats of their eggs dies, And from that which is crushed a snake breaks forth.

6 Their webs will not become clothing, Nor will they cover themselves with their works; Their works are works of iniquity, And an act of violence is in their hands.

7 Their feet run to evil, And they hasten to shed innocent blood; Their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity, Devastation and destruction are in their highways.

As we move into the 5^th verse, we see extraordinary deception. Boy, is that on the loose today. We see here that people will use their power (hands) to bring violence into other people’s lives. This is not necessarily physical assault but the ruining of finances, marriages, careers, and so on. Let’s take a look at some other verses that speak to this issue of feet running to evil. As we read these let us not think they have nothing to do with us. Let the Holy Spirit teach.

Proverbs 1:15-16 (NASB)

15 My son, do not walk in the way with them. Keep your feet from their path,

16 For their feet run to evil And they hasten to shed blood.

Proverbs 6:16-19 (NASB)

16 There are six things which the LORD hates, Yes, seven which are an abomination to Him:

17 Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood,

18 A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that run rapidly to evil,

19 A false witness who utters lies, And one who spreads strife among brothers.

Romans 3:15-18 (NASB)

15 “THEIR FEET ARE SWIFT TO SHED BLOOD,

16 DESTRUCTION AND MISERY ARE IN THEIR PATHS,

17 AND THE PATH OF PEACE THEY HAVE NOT KNOWN.”

18 “THERE IS NO FEAR OF GOD BEFORE THEIR EYES.”

Don’t be too quick to think you have not shed innocent blood either through character assassination or voting for a Democrat.

2 John 1:10-11 (KJV)

10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:

11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

Matthew 5:22 (KJV)

22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
