LIFE IN HEAVEN – PART SIXTEEN

TIME FRAME FOUR
Genesis 3:6 to Hebrews 1:3
Welcome back to this wonderfully enlightening and encouraging study of “Life in Heaven”. God is so good! We are in the fourth time frame which is before salvation by the Blood of Jesus. We have been talking about Enoch, Elijah, and the gentile woman who came to Jesus on behalf of her daughter. We have seen how all three (actually thousands) brought about the impossible by faith in God. They reached into a different physical time period. Time does not exist in eternity (in the light). We are even now independent of time with God in Christ Jesus (no time in the light, in alignment with God).
So, Heaven is now changed from the prior time period in that there is an intact people living in Heaven, first Enoch and later Elijah arrives. Have there been others which are not recorded in the Bible? Absolutely possible, for with God all things are possible! What are Enoch’s and Elijah’s circumstances in Heaven; do we suppose they are just wandering around the Temple and the streets of gold? No, God has constructed a mansion for them in which to live when they are in Heaven. Could it be that they are not in Heaven all the time? I suspect that is highly likely since God changes not and His mandate or commandments are not negated by a change of location or physical death. Let us read God’s instructions, God’s mandate or commands for all men for all time again.
Genesis 1:26-28 (KJV)
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Genesis 2:15-17 (KJV)
15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
These are the seven eternal commands of God.
- Be fruitful
- Multiply
- Replenish
- Subdue
- Care for – stewardship
- Guard
- Do not mix the knowledge of Good and Evil
Adam was given authority or dominion over the earth however before Jesus ascended to the right hand of the Father He made it clear that the believer has authority in both Heaven and earth. Could this apply to Enoch and Elijah? Sure. We, the body of Christ, of which Enoch and Elijah were likely the first two members, have authority beyond the earth into Heaven itself. Listen to the Words of the Christ Himself.
Matthew 28:18-20 (KJV)
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Let us put aside all fear which is the belief that God will not perform His Word, that God does not really love us. In faith nothing is impossible to us, God will perform His Word.
Matthew 17:20 (KJV)
20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Unbelief brings failure in even the smallest matters but faith brings success in even the greatest matters. Do we have faith? All persons starting with Adam are created in the image and likeness of God, created in the god class of beings. Perhaps Enoch and Elijah on their arrival in Heaven were the first two persons of the god class to call Heaven their home. Of course, there is an innumerable number of beings in the angel class in Heaven. Enoch and Elijah were no doubt assigned angels to assist them in whatever assignments given them of the Father. They have been busy but it has not been hard or burdensome and is accomplished by faith. They will be able to accomplish all the will of the Father when they return as the two witnesses for they have been building faith for millennia. Next week, Lord willing, I will talk some about Moses and Mount Transfiguration.
Until our next publication, confess the following passage and walk before Whom we have to do with great rejoicing and thanksgiving. This physical body is our humiliation but soon it will be no more for the glory of God and our eternal benefit.
Philippians 3:20-21 (MSG)
20 But there’s far more to life for us. We’re citizens of high heaven! We’re waiting the arrival of the Savior, the Master, Jesus Christ,
21 who will transform our earthy bodies into glorious bodies like his own. He’ll make us beautiful and whole with the same powerful skill by which he is putting everything as it should be, under and around him.
