MY SERVANTS SHALL REJOICE

Greetings dear and precious saints of the only Living God and welcome back to this enlightening and empowering study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. How blessed we are to have the very thoughts of God and to know the laws of His Kingdom. I was going to use the word boundaries but I didn’t want any misunderstanding so I used laws instead. The Kingdom of God, of course, in terms or size is boundless, unlike the boundaries of a town, state, or nation. What it does have as a Kingdom are laws which keep us safe and in the will of God. The featured picture today is of the State House in Providence Rhode Island. Its purpose is to remind us to pray for all that are in authority especially those in the various levels of government. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 65:11-15 (NKJV)
11 “But you are those who forsake the LORD, Who forget My holy mountain, Who prepare a table for Gad, And who furnish a drink offering for Meni.
12 Therefore I will number you for the sword, And you shall all bow down to the slaughter; Because, when I called, you did not answer; When I spoke, you did not hear, But did evil before My eyes, And chose that in which I do not delight.”
13 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: “Behold, My servants shall eat, But you shall be hungry; Behold, My servants shall drink, But you shall be thirsty; Behold, My servants shall rejoice, But you shall be ashamed;
14 Behold, My servants shall sing for joy of heart, But you shall cry for sorrow of heart, And wail for grief of spirit.
15 You shall leave your name as a curse to My chosen; For the Lord GOD will slay you, And call His servants by another name;
This passage like many others in this Precious Book of Isaiah alternates between the Lord identifying the sins of His people principally idolatry and the benefits of worshiping Him. Like them, our spiritual enemies take advantage of our lusts of the eye, the flesh, and our pride, the pride of life. As we shift into verse thirteen, we hear the Lord speaking about the benefits of serving Him with a whole heart. He tells the rebellious that they will be hungry while the servants of God are in plenty. He tells the rebellious that His servants will be rejoicing while they are walking shame. The servants of God will sing with joy of heart while the rebellious cry with sorrow and grief. Why do they, why do we persist in sin? Perhaps we can see some Truth in the following passage from the Book of James.
James 1:13-17 (NKJV)
13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.
14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.
15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.
16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
There is this awful teaching that has arisen in the Church, really for centuries, that the occurrence of the curse in our lives is from God, testing us. That is blasphemy. The presence of the curse in any of our lives is due to sin, unbelief, period. The thief, devils, bring stealing, killing, and destroying into our lives, not the Lord.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
