Greetings dear and precious saints of the only Living God and welcome back to this enlightening and empowering study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. How blessed we are to have the very thoughts of God and to know the laws of His Kingdom. I was going to use the word boundaries but I didn’t want any misunderstanding so I used laws instead. The Kingdom of God, of course, in terms or size is boundless, unlike the boundaries of a town, state, or nation. What it does have as a Kingdom are laws which keep us safe and in the will of God. The featured picture today is of the State House in Columbia South Carolina. Its purpose is to remind us to pray for all that are in authority especially those in the various levels of government. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 65:14-18 (NKJV)
14 Behold, My servants shall sing for joy of heart, But you shall cry for sorrow of heart, And wail for grief of spirit.
15 You shall leave your name as a curse to My chosen; For the Lord GOD will slay you, And call His servants by another name;
16 So that he who blesses himself in the earth Shall bless himself in the God of truth; And he who swears in the earth Shall swear by the God of truth; Because the former troubles are forgotten, And because they are hidden from My eyes.
17 “For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the former shall not be remembered or come to mind.
18 But be glad and rejoice forever in what I create; For behold, I create Jerusalem as a rejoicing, And her people a joy.
The Jews time and time again have given themselves over to the curse, the thief, due to idolatry and finally rejection of the Messiah. They thought they were serving God but they were not, they were far astray. What about us? Don’t be too quick to answer. Are we sure we are not the Pharisees, Sadducees, and doctors of the law in our day? They did not prove the Word and became ingulfed in their own traditions and the doctrines of demons, what about us? Are we good Bereans?
Acts 17:10-11 (NKJV)
10 Then the brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea. When they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews.
11 These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.
These are choices they have made knowing the will of God but chased after other gods instead. The lust of the flesh, the eye, and a prideful nature are strong. Without walking focused on the Word of God, the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness the schemes of the demons will ensnare us. Before we know it, we are doing things we never thought we would do. Many times, we don’t come to that understanding for years and much damage later to ourselves and others.
Isaiah 65:15 (TLB)
15 Your name shall be a curse word among my people, for the Lord God will slay you and call his true servants by another name.
Many in the Church have looked down on the Jew and even said that the Church has replaced the Jew but that is contrary to lots and lots of Scripture. The day is coming after a terrible holocaust when the remaining Jews will recognize and accept the Messiah. Israel as a nation after Gods’ own heart will once again be. What is the “another name” God’s true servants will be called by? Could it be Christians?
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
