ARE YOU LOOKING FOR WOE OR WELL DONE GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT?

Greetings dear ones, sons and daughters of the only Living God, joint heirs with the Son our Savior Christ Jesus, and led by our Helper, our Teacher the Holy Spirit. How can one not be thankful all day long giving praise to the One and only God? Welcome back to this study of the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. This was the major theme of the Ministry of Jesus in the earth. Jesus was either demonstrating the Kingdom of God or teaching us how it worked. In reality so does the whole of Scripture. Let’s move to our anchor Scripture for our study, today in the NLT. Keep in mind that the New Living Translation (NLT) is a thought for thought translation or rendering of the manuscripts used.
Matthew 6:33 (NLT)
33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
As I have asked many times before, do we see this as a command, a command we received and with the help of the Holy Spirit doing? If we are not, it to the best of our revelation (light) knowledge then we must be careful not to complain about the conditions of our natural life. Again, we come to a lengthy teaching of the Master which will take a couple of days to cover, at least in part.
Matthew 23:13-17 (KJV)
13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.
15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
16 Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!
17 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?
How many times has your Pastor gotten up to preach/teach and started with “woe” and “ye fools and blind”? Might this get our attention a little more readily than the soft on sin pablum we hear all too often? Jesus is talking to the organized Church leaders of His day. What about today? Some might say, well He is talking about the various cults found on the earth, certainly not my Church. Really? Are you sure? Are you a good Berean or do you just swallow everything you are told hook-line-and-sinker? Let me remind you of what a good Berean is.
Acts 17:11 (KJV)
11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
TAKE HOME:
- Let’s examine ourselves asking if we believe what the Bible says or what someone else says the Bible says.
- Are we teaching or hearing taught traditions of men and doctrines of demons or the Truth? How do you know?
- Being blind guides, hypocrites, and having evil motives is a choice and a path to great destruction and perhaps Hell.
