WALKING IN THE PEACE OF GOD

Greetings and welcome back to this revealing study of the Kingdom of God. If we want to be the testimony to the world and to each other that our Heavenly Father intended, we need to hear, believe and do according to the Kingdom of God not the world. Then the Grace of God will flow in our lives. Renewing our minds to the Truths of the Bible, the Kingdom of God can be difficult. Most of us have been completely indoctrinated with the traditions of men, doctrines of demons, and sacred cows. Now, let’s turn to our primary text Matthew 6:33.
Matthew 6:32-34 (NIV)
32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
I have included a verse before and after our focus verse to give some context. Jesus has been talking about the needs of this natural life and points out that this is what the pagans or unsaved focus and pursue. However, that is not to be the case for us, the saved. We are to “seek first his kingdom and his righteousness” and when we do the natural things of life will be given to us. That is not to say we won’t have a part to play but the extent of our part is directly related to the extent to which we follow the command. Remember the following verse when thinking about how difficult all this is to be according to Jesus.
Matthew 11:28-30 (KJV)
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Now, Jesus is not saying He will do it for you (He doesn’t have the authority) but that He will teach (verse 29) you how principally from His Word. What does verse thirty say? Jesus said that whatever He has assigned us to do will be easy and light. Why doesn’t the average or even most Christians have that testimony. Not following the command of Matthew 6:33 with their whole heart. Now, I want to shift gears back to what we are seeking. A few teachings ago I addressed righteousness and today once again I am addressing Bible peace. When Scripture says (Matthew 6:33) to seek first the Kingdom of God it is saying seek first righteousness, peace, and joy. These are already resident in the Holy Spirit who is within us. He is our teacher and our Helper. He is instrumental proportional to our level of seeking in our expressing of these facets of the Kingdom of God.
The word peace is transliterated from Greek to English as eirēnē meaning to join, prosperity, being one, quietness, rest, and being set at one again according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. Don’t rush down through these, go slow, meditate, we are to walk in Bible peace, now. We are joined with God to carry out His purposes, the purposes of the Kingdom of God. We are to walk in prosperity of every kind. Yes, that includes financial. Can you do more or less for the Kingdom with money? You can do far more, faith moves Heaven or what money cannot buy but money moves things on the earth. This fight against prosperity is demonic. It’s about focus folks. Being one has to do with the quickening of our spirit man, the renewal of our mind, and the soon redemption of our bodies. Quietness has to do with calmness free of fear for we understand who we are in Him and nothing by any means can harm us (Luke 10:19). The rest of God is the provision of God. The Father has given us the whole of the Kingdom (Luke 12:32), its resources are at our disposal. Finally, but far from least we are one with our Heavenly Father once again in Christ Jesus indwelt with the Holy Spirit making us one spirit with our God (1 Cor 6:17).
TAKE HOME:
- We are to seek first Gods’ righteousness, peace, and joy and His ways of expressing each one.
- Our yoke is to be easy and our burden light.
- Bible peace is ours and includes being joined in harmony with our God, possessing prosperity of every kind, being whole spirit, soul, and body, being tranquil for we know who we are in Him, knowing that all the resources of Heaven are ours to command, and once again we are one with God.
Lord willing, I will resume right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
