DO YOU HAVE FULLNESS OF BIBLE PEACE?

Greetings and welcome back to this ongoing study of “The Kingdom of God”. Describing the Kingdom of God and how it functioned was the central theme of Jesus’ Ministry in the earth and continues today through us. He talked about how it was structured, how it functioned, the benefits to those who received this Kingdom of God life, and the benefits for those administering the Kingdom of God. Let’s move now to our anchor Scripture and then to our teaching Scripture for today.
Matthew 6:33 (ESV)
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Again, we see that it is a command from our King and Lord to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness or His way of doing. The Kingdom way of doing includes how we think, how we talk, and how we do and live which produces wholeness in every area of life. The last two teachings have centered around the following verse and so it will be today. Last Sunday, the 4th, we spent quite a bit of time discussing righteousness.
You will recall that righteousness starts by attaining to a condition acceptable to God, the Father. That is accomplished at salvation when we make us our Lord and Savior. Righteousness is not only right standing with the Father attained by the sacrifice of Jesus the Christ but is right doing. This right doing in the eyes of God, the only eyes that count, is a life of integrity, excellence, purity, rightness as the Father sees rightness, and correctness of thinking, speaking, feeling, and acting.
Let’s move to our teaching Scripture and today I will focus on peace.
Romans 14:17 (ESV)
17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
We will now examine Bible peace. This is a huge word in meaning and spiritual reality. Remember that peace like righteousness and joy is singular in number and feminine in gender. The same is true of all the fruits of the spirit and the works of the flesh found in Galatians chapter five. We choose, each one of us, how much fruit we produce and how many works of the flesh we indulge. Both are contagious, infecting our own lives and the lives of those around us. Back to peace. Most teachers and preachers that I hear speak about peace generally are speaking in the context of a tranquil state of the soul. Bible peace does indeed include this, but it is so much more. Bible peace means having security, safety, prosperity (all arenas including finance), happiness, quietness (tranquil state), it is being whole and being one with God. Wow!
Right standing (salvation) and right doing make all of this a reality in our lives. Now, one can be in right standing, still in the family, but doing wrong. Those of you with children know what I am talking about. We have all had children that were in our family and loved but were not doing right. Consequently, we did not reward them with more than the essentials of life. No different in the Kingdom. Just as we showed long suffering, and mercy, so does our Heavenly Father. However, the other side of the coin is way better. Salvation followed by right doing brings Heaven to earth in our lives. Does that mean our demonic enemies won’t threaten us, challenge our belief in the Word? Of course not, they will work all the harder at times. Dear ones, as we look at our lives and we find ourselves deficient in any aspect of peace we must come boldly to the Throne and receive wisdom. It is the will of the Father that we have abundance in every area of life to carry out the work of the Kingdom of God.
TAKE HOME:
- The Kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. We are made righteous, peace and joy are part of our spirit man, but the Holy Spirit enables supernatural expression in our obedience to the Word of God.
- Bible peace means having security, safety, prosperity (all arenas including finance), happiness, quietness (tranquil state), it is being whole and being one with God.
- Let’s examine ourselves in this regard and find any deficiencies in our Bible peace and determine before the Lord what the corrective measures are.
Lord willing, I will resume right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
