GOD IS IN CONTROL

I will continue today with what the Lord is saying to the Church through me. There is only one entity on the earth that can stop and reverse the moral freefall of this nation and the world. That entity is the Church, each of us individually and corporately in our groups, but it will not occur in the present condition of the Church, body of Christ. As I have been asking the Lord about this and meditating upon it, I believe He has brought three things to mind. First, He reminded me of two prophecies He had given me and I discussed those last week as well as the King Cyrus of our time. Second is a recent sermon the theme of which stirred me and I shared in part yesterday. And third there are two sacred cows (there are many more) that much of the Church believe to be true but are not. I will start discussing those today. As many of you know I wrote and published a book titled “Sacred Cows Among The Ekklesia” subtitled “Traditions of Men and Doctrines of Demons”. I will be borrowing heavily from that book.
The first sacred cow that I will discuss is the deception that God is in control. The idea conveyed by this false doctrine is that God is somehow controlling everything that happens in our lives and around the world. We hear people exclaim with great conviction that God is sovereign meaning He is in control. Actually, the word sovereign does not mean to control but rather to have authority over. Having authority over and controlling one are two very different things. Knowing something and controlling or causing the thing are two very different things.
It is clear that God knows all things, but honest study of Scripture clearly demonstrates the freewill of mankind. To say that God caused or made something happen (all things) we just thought we had freewill, negates the need for prayer or studying the Bible. To think that God is causing, the good, the bad, and the ugly, that they are all the will of God leaves no place for our choices or the deceptions of the demons. The moment we believe that God is controlling all things it relieves us of all responsibility. In addition, this idea that God is controlling all things gets intertwined with the Scripture that God is working all things out for our good (Romans 8:28). There are two qualifiers in that verse. One is that we love (agape) God which means we are obeying the Scripture, we have a selfless lifestyle, and we are living the Blood Covenant. The Second is that we are walking in our call, not a call of our or someone else’s choosing.
I ask the God in control group, “what is God in control of?” Perhaps some would say: “well, everything”. Really, is that true? Just what has He made you do today? The only way to conclude that God is in control of everything is to believe that He is the author, the cause of the good, the bad, ugly things of our lives, and all that is going on in the earth. Are we simply puppets on a string and all things of our lives are already decided? Has God decided who is going to Heaven and who is going to Hell already. If all is decided for us, what is the point of the Bible? What role do each of us have in the final outcomes of our lives? The most important words in my life, in your life, are our own words. Don’t take my word for it, listen to our Creator.

35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
Once we exercise our authority, Jesus sees to it that the words of our mouths are performed whether they be good or bad. It is the Law of Confession (words) as well as Sowing and Reaping.
TAKE HOME:
- We have been given a four-year time of mercy and grace by God to get our act together, one is spent, three left.
- We are to write our God given vision for this year and beyond and run with it.
- The God is in control of everything doctrine is a sacred cow and must be destroyed. God knows all about our lives but He does not dictate our choices.
