GIFTS – PART FORTY-SEVEN
GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT – PART EIGHT

Greetings and welcome to all who join this blog, the Friday Bible Study titled “Gifts” and currently focused on the nine gifts of the Spirit (Holy Spirit). Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible to expand the reach of this Ministry and the Truth. Now, let’s prepare to dive into our study of gifts from God, specifically the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit. The word ‘gift’ can be a verb or a noun. The verb form is an action word meaning to give. From God’s point of view, He is the giver of these gifts. He gives them to us willingly requiring no payment. The reality is the fact that we have nothing that would be sufficient for purchase. Like everything else in the Kingdom of God one or more of these gifts accompany the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and are received by faith, in love (obedience to the Word), and led of the Holy Spirit. God is the giver of these gifts and we are the recipients. The word ‘gift’ as the recipient is in the noun form. A gift can be a talent, skill, or ability and is a present, or something granted. In the case of the gifts of the Spirit it is a gifting which conveys a supernatural ability. Now, let’s turn our attention to the Apostle Paul’s discussion of these gifts by the unction of the Holy Spirit.
1 Corinthians 12:1 (KJV)
1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
Should we be seeking to eliminate ignorance in our lives concerning the things of God, of the Kingdom of God? Hopefully, I am hearing a resounding, “yes”. Moving forward.
1 Corinthians 12:4-11 (KJV)
4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
Two weeks ago, I left off with verse nine above and the gift of faith. As I discussed this faith is a “special faith” given for particular purposes in the body of Christ. Just as every part in a human body works together for the benefit of the others so it is with the nine gifts of the Spirit and this gift. Let me see if I can bring a measure of clarity concerning the operation of these gifts. I want it to be perfectly clear to all that the prayer language (other tongues) received with and evidence of the baptism of the Holy Spirit is not the gift of tongues (verse ten above). Concerning the prayer language, we can speak in that language at times of our choosing. This is not the case with any of the nine gifts of the Spirit (Holy Spirit). The nine gifts of the Holy Spirit operate in concert with our faith and love (agape) led of the Holy Spirit.
Faith is on of the nine fruits of our spirit (originating from God) and is quickened to operate at a supernatural level at salvation. We are told that we all have received a measure of faith meaning we all have the same starting point.
Romans 12:3 (KJV)
3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
The question is this. What have I done with this measure of faith, what have you done with it? Just as we are all born with biceps in the physical, we don’t all have equal strength at say age thirty. Why? Some have used their biceps and thus increasing them in size and strength and others have not. Likewise, one may choose to exercise their faith and another may not. We start where we are. A little baby can’t even roll itself over but with time and effort it can and perhaps in time be a champion weight lifter. Are we satisfied with just rolling over or are we pushing in to be champions for God in the Kingdom of God?
So, back to the gift of faith (special faith). This special faith (above their developing faith) comes into operation as led of the Holy Spirit as needed in the body of Christ. For example, there may be a situation, say a health situation, in the body (local Church) however no one in the congregation is operating in a level of faith necessary to bring the power of God. Of course, the person needing the healing must have faith in God and in the person operating in faith (just like we see in the Bible). Time after time Jesus told the person healed, “let it be unto you according to your faith” or “your faith has made you whole”. Who in your congregation has this gift of special faith?
Lord willing, I will pick up right here in two weeks, next Friday is a teaching on the first of the three fall Feasts of the Lord, Rosh HaShanna.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
