A WELL OF TRUTH
WHAT ABOUT THE RAIN? – PART FOUR

Greetings dear and precious saints of God, my brothers and sisters in our elder Brother Christ Jesus. Welcome back to A Well of Truth. The Holy Scripture, the Bible, is The Well of Truth. Before we move forward, please take a moment to share this teaching by every available means available to you. This assists us in broadening our reach with the good news of the Kingdom of God. It also expands your participation in disseminating the gospel according to the command of Christ. Thank you for sharing.
For years I have looked at, confessed, and thanked God for the outpouring of His rain in Joel chapter two and the restoration this rain brings. I thought I was done with this series last week however this morning the Lord prompted me there was a little bit to add, so here we go. Perhaps you like myself have heard this rain described as being outpourings of the Holy Spirit, first in the “Old Covenant” and second in the “New Covenant”. On the other hand, I have always seen this rain as an outpouring of the Word of God. Several weeks ago, now, the Lord prompted me to study the Joel text a little deeper and bring forward some of the Truth it contained. Now, lets go ahead and read our Joel text continuing to read out loud.
Joel 2:23-27 (KJV)
23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.
24 And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the fats shall overflow with wine and oil.
25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.
26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.
27 And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.
Our focus has been upon verse twenty-three and the “rain” noting that it is the Word, spoken, poured out in the earth that brings all the wonderful things that follow in verses 24 through 27. Yes, the Holy Spirit is the Power but the Words, the will of God, must come first to trigger or ignite the Power of God. All of us have had things stolen in our lives by the devourer. The good news from our nothing but good God is that if we will speak the Word, His promises, He will not only restore but give overflowing abundance. Thank you, Lord Jesus. Throughout Scripture and Jesus, Himself in the earth used natural examples to illustrate spiritual Truths (for example all the parables).
Romans 1:20 (AMP)
20 For ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature and attributes, that is, His eternal power and divinity, have been made intelligible and clearly discernible in and through the things that have been made (His handiworks). So [men] are without excuse [altogether without any defense or justification],
Our text (Joel) itself shows what everyone knows which is that rain (in this case words) will bring forth a crop (be it good or bad). And so is the next passage.
Isaiah 55:10-11 (KJV)
10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
The rain is words, the earth is our soul, and a crop will come forth, will it be good or bad, we determine. This is a Law of God; He gives the example and we are to emulate. Jesus reinforces this in Mark.
Mark 11:23-24 (KJV)
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
Notice all the saying? Saying that we must do! The saying, the words are the rain which brings forth the result. Lord willing I will return next Sunday with fresh insights from the Throne.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
